Prep Baseball Illinois Pitcher of the Week: Hayden Adamowicz

By: Pete Hamot
Assistant Director, Illinois & Wisconsin

The Saxons boast a 7-2 record, and they have received nothing short of dominance on the mound from LHP Hayden Adamowicz (2027). The freshman twirled a six inning perfect game on Saturday to help Schaumburg to a 12-0 win over Vernon Hills, striking out 11 along the way. For his efforts and stellar performance, Adamowicz has been named this week’s ‘Pitcher of the Week’.

His perfect game is undoubtedly the highlight of his season so far, but he was likely thinking the same thing last week; as he fired a five inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win over West Chicago, only allowing one walk and striking out nine.

Currently ranked No. 11 in the state, the southpaw has 17.2 innings under his belt with a perfect 3-0 record (one save), just two hits allowed on the year, two walks, 35 strikeouts and a 0.40 ERA. He has some premium arm talent, already reaching into the mid-80s with his fastball with a simple operation and little perceived effort. He provides some intrigue on the other side of the ball as well, swinging a heavy barrel from the left side of the plate that stays quick and direct through the zone.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
