As the spring high school season in Louisiana ended a few weeks back, and college baseball set to conclude its season over the next few weeks Prep Baseball Report will be previewing some things to look for on the summer select circuit.

Last week we took a look at five Uncommitted 2017s, and today we will take a look at five more players in, what seems to be, an extremely deep 2017 class in the state of Louisiana.

+Austin Perrin, LHP, Hahnville HS(2017)
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed pitcher with a small, athletic frame. Simple, clean repeatable delivery with smooth rhythm, in-line direction, lands square and finishes athletic. Short, clean arm action with quick arm speed into a high-3/4 release and regular effort. Fastball sits 80-82 mph touching 84 with slight arm side run. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with sharp, late break and solid depth at 69-71 mph. Changeup is likely his best pitch with fastball arm speed, deception and late, hard sink action at 74-76 mph. Will throw all three pitches for strikes and works at an outstanding tempo.

+Kirkland Banks, SS, Barbe HS(2017)
A 5-foot-10, 180-pound middle infielder with a strong, compact, athletic frame with fast twitch actions. Defensively shows quality actions, feet and feel in the infield with near college average arm strength. Right-handed hitter with short, simple swing, bat speed, and quality path. Outstanding overall athlete.

+Rafe Schindler, RHP, Chalmette HS(2017)
A 6-foot-4, 170-pound right-hander from Chalmette, LA. Long, lean, projectable frame with loose, fast arm out of a high-3/4 release. Clean, in-line delivery with some funkiness in the arm swing and hand wrap. Fastball sat 84-86 mph with occasional life and command. Flashes a quality breaking ball with 11/5 shape, spins correctly, with depth and deception.

+Peyton Johnson, CINF/RHP, Sam Houston HS(2017)
A 6-foot-2, 190-pound corner infielder and right-handed pitcher with a long, lanky frame with surprising present strength, ranked No. 5 in the ’17 class. Right-handed pitcher with clean, loose and quick arm. Low to mid-80s fastball with quality angle and competes in the strike zone. Flashes a feel for tight spinning curveball with 11/5 shape and depth. Left-handed hitter with smooth swing, flat path, bat speed, strength and occasional length. Advanced hitter that projects to have big power.

+Nick Ray, OF/INF, Jesuit HS(2017)
A 6-foot-2, 200-pound outfielder and infielder with an extremely advanced, athletic and physical frame. Shows outstanding athleticism, quick first step, quality actions and near college average arm strength in the outfield. Right-handed hitter with an overall raw plate approach and bat path, but shows good hand-eye coordination and bat speed. Outstanding runner with big projection to the body, with a skill set that is currently extremely raw.
