Updated Class of 2025 Player Rankings (August)

The state of Michigan has become a hotbed of talent throughout the country placing numerous players at various levels into colleges as well as multiple draft picks. As we close out the summer and move into fall baseball as well as other fall sports we had the opportunity to see hundreds of prospects throughout the spring/summer and have updated our class rankings.

Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.

Below we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", "The Newcomers", “The Risers”, "The Sleepers" and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What’s New At The Top

Blake Ilitch RHP / 3B / University Liggett, MI / 2025

Report: Blake takes over the top spot after showing off an advanced arsenal on the mound this summer. Ball jumps out of his hand working upper 80’s with his fastball with the ability to get into the low 90’s. Polished 4 pitch mix features a CB, SL and CH. Recent Duke commit has established himself as Michigan’s top 2025 arm with more projection on the way at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds.

Zane Stahl RHP / Spring lake, MI / 2025

Report: Zane is a late riser this summer and enters the rankings at number 3. Tons of projection in the frame at 6-foot-6, 195 pounds. Fastball has been into the upper 80’s with a pair of breaking balls to keep hitters off balance. Recent Louisville commit has all the makings of a big time arm.

Newcomers

Ryan Bosch LHP / 1B / Fruitport, MI / 2025

Report: Ryan enters the rankings in the Top 10 as the top LHP in Michigan’s 2025 class. Projectable frame at 6-foot-7 and looks to have some of the top upside of arms in the class. Throws with a lower slot on the mound running his fastball into the mid to upper 80’s and a present feel for a breaking ball. One of the more intriguing arms to follow in the state.

Cory Smiewec RHP / OF / Forest hills Northern, MI / 2025

Report: Cory enters the rankings at 20 after a strong summer where he was named Championship Game MVP at the Great Lakes invite. Quicker arm on the mound with a 6-foot frame was up to 86 at the event with move velo in the tank as he fills out and adds strength. Three pitch mix on the mound with a good feel for a curve and changeup. Will be an arm to watch next spring.

Justin St. Antoine SS / RHP / Forest Hills Northern, MI / 2025

Report: Justin is another newcomer who checks in right behind his high school teammate. Bat first two way with a good present feel in the box. Good athlete that can stick at SS and has a strong arm that was up to 84 across the infield. On the mound works low 80’s with a slider and a knuckleball that keeps hitters off balance.

Isaiah Domey 1B / OF / Anchor Bay, MI / 2025

Report: Isaiah enters the rankings after being a frequent top performer at PBR tournaments this summer. One of the top power bats in Michigan’s 2025 class. Posted a 96 MPH exit velocity at Top Prospect Games and consistently finds the barrel. Domey was an extra base hit machine at tournaments at both the 15u and 18u level.

Risers

Paul Toovalian RHP / 1B / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2025

Report: Paul moves up in the Top 10 after putting together some strong outings during both the spring and summer. Works mid 80’s with fastball showing ability to get into upper 80’s at times. Has a strong lower half with explosiveness. Three pitch mix on the mound that features a breaking ball and changeup. Name to watch for an Orchard Lake St. Mary’s team that is looking to replace a large number of contributors on the mound from last season.

Brendan Thompson SS / 2B / Forest Hills Eastern, MI / 2025

Report: Brendan climbs into the Top 15 after a breakout 2022 season. Twitchy athlete at 6-foot, 170 pounds who can flat out pick it up the middle. Fluid fielder during workouts has been up to 84 across the infield and won a state title this spring starting at SS as a freshman. Line drive approach at the plate with room to improve as he adds strength. One of the top middle infield prospects in Michigan’s 2025 class with the ability to stick as a true SS.

Sleepers

Sean Fox 3B / SS / Rochester, MI / 2025

Report: Sean was a standout performer at Top Prospect Games this summer despite being one of the youngest players there. Bat first prospect currently consistently found the barrel producing loud contact and showed good hand speed. Athletic player is a primary 3B now but can play up the middle as well.

Kole Waterman LHP / 1B / Edison, MI / 2025

Report: Two-way prospect with a 6-foot-3, 190 pound frame that has a mix of some present strength and projection. At the plate has a gap to gap approach flashing some present power with potential for more with added strength. Into the low 80’s on the mound with a quick arm out of a low slot.

Eugene (Tro) Fellings 1B / LHP / Kalamazoo Central, MI / 2025

Report: Wiry left handed corner prospect with a good present hit tool. Was a standout at Junior Future Games carrying Team Michigan offensively during pool play posting 6 hits. Has a line drive approach at 6-foot, 160 pounds with the ability to add power as he fills out. Primary 1B now but has the athleticism to play in the outfield.
