On Sunday, Oct. 15th, the PBR Illinois team is hosting the Underclass Showcase at The MAX in McCook, Ill. This event is open to all 2026 and 2027 graduates and, like all PBR events, serve as identifiers for future invite-only events, such as our Illinois State Games and the PBR Future Games.

For a closer look at the showcase details and the technologies we'll have on-site to assist our in-person evaluation for all in attendance, click here. For a complete look at those registered to attend this event, view the most up-to-date version of the roster by clicking here.

ROSTER PREVIEW

This year's roster is already shaping up nicely, just like in years past.

RHP/OF Tyler Townsend (Sycamore, 2026) stands in a hard-to-miss frame at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with strength throughout. Ranked No. 48 in the state, Townsend is an athletic mover on the mound and has shown his fastball up to 85 mph with ease. He spins a slider well, spinning it at an average of 2431 RPM with 14.7 inches of horizontal movement. He can also throw a change-up for strikes which has arm-side fade and 13 inches of movement. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has well above-average bat speed (80.5 mph) with easy juice, peppering his hardest hit ball at 95 mph. He’s also shown a strong arm from the outfield, firing his best ball to home at 87 mph.

One of the top prospects in the state’s 2027 class, OF Sebastian Wilson (Lane Tech; Tennessee), will be in attendance on Sunday. Wilson stands in an athletic frame at 6-foot, 190-pounds with strength throughout. He’s a 6.82 runner and his athleticism translates to the outfield where he attacks the ball in-stride. He has a strong arm that’s been up to 88 mph on throws to home. A left-handed hitter, he’s produced a max exit velocity of 94 mph. This look will give our staff an opportunity to see the progress he’s made since the last time we saw him in April.

Perusing the event roster, we’re set to meet a majority of players who’ve not yet attended a PBR showcase, and we’re eager to add more names to our follow lists.

EVENT CHECK-IN PROCESS

Because of the high number of prospects set to attend Sunday’s event, it is imperative that you read our adjusted showcase itinerary below, which will allow our staff to swiftly and efficiently educate and evaluate the players set to attend.

Additionally, in an effort to continue and develop contactless check-in strategies, upon arrival, players will scan a QR Code with their smart phone camera that will lead them to a Google Form. On that Form, players will enter their name (matching the spelling on their PBR profile) and hit submit. Upon submission, players will be prompted to click a link that will direct them to their jersey color and number, located next to their registered name.
