Of the four prospects committed to major Division 1 schools that currently sit atop the PA Class of 2016 rankings, each has taken a turn sitting at No. 1 except for RHP/SS Max Kranick (Valley View). The Virginia commit had hovered near the top of the rankings since their inception a year ago and now has ascended to the top spot.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound junior is a talented two way prospect that will likely concentrate on pitching only at the next level. His fastball sits in the 85-87 range with late life and as Kranick continues to develop physically it is likely one or two more velocity spikes are on the way.
Kranick has had outings recently where he has begun to post readings in the low 90s and with his athleticism and long levers it is likely that will become the norm in the near future.
