Class of 2015 Player Rankings Updated

Mike NikorakFor the 3rd time in the past year a new prospect finds himself at No. 1 in the updated Class of 2015 rankings. Stroudsburg RHP Mike Nikorak, an Alabama commit, has seen a significant jump in velocity and is turning heads this summer with his draft potential. Nikorak has a very projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 205 pounds, with long limbs. He has a simple, classic windup in which he brings his hands over his head and turns his back slightly on the hitter. His delivery is in line with the plate and extremely easy. Pitching in the mid-80s last year, Nikorak sat 90-93 mph with his fastball with good life and occasional downhill plane at the Tournament of Stars recently. His curveball sat 76-78, flashing good, sharp break with 11-to-5 action in warm-ups, but it remained inconsistent in the game and he seldom used it. He threw one changeup at 78. Nikorak experienced the usual command issues seen in a young arm with a tall, long-limbed frame. He’ll need to throw more strikes down the road with his fastball so he can utilize his secondary stuff.

An update to the Class of 2016 rankings and the initial Class of 2017 rankings will follow the next two days. To view the final Class of 2014 rankings CLICK HERE.
