Pennsylvania Weekly Standouts: Second Edition 2024

As we begin our 2024 event schedule, we want to highlight some of the standout players from last weeks events. These are players, that are uncomitted, who caught the attention of Prep Baseball staff.

Colin Carr LHP / OF / Methacton, PA / 2026Really fun to see his progression. Athletic, with 2-way potential. Played aggressive to the ball in the OF. Showed off a strong 86mph arm that was on target. Swing stayed on plane with a solid gap-to-gap approach. The LHP had a quick arm and a firm 80mph FB.

Tyler Gilbert 1B / RHP / Perkiomen Valley, PA / 2025Balanced approcach at the plate. Compact swing with a lot of strong contact. Exit Velo up to 91mph. Also showed well on the mound. Quick arm with FB up to 82mph. Long limbs and plenty of upside in that 6'1" frame.

Tyler Tindall SS / RHP / Pope John Paul II, PA / 2027The freshman really shined on the mound. High 3/4 arm slot throwing downhill. FB gets on you quick; up to 81mph. Every pitch moves; Adavanced CB with good spin of 2,300rpm.

Brady Youngblood C / 1B / Dallas, PA / 2027
Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 2
The freshman continues to show why he is at the top of rankings in his class. A 5-tool player with plenty of room for growth. The 6'2" 185 lbs. catcher has great bat control and a powerfull swing (Exit Velo 92mph). Everything was on display as he burst through line with a 6.9s-60 time and showed elite catch/throw abilty (POP time- 1.94-2.02; Catcher Velo- 81mph).

Christopher Graff C / OF / Riverside High School, PA / 2026
Rankings StateRank: 61 / POS: 10
Plays the game hard; explosive athlete. Stays behind the ball well with the bat; quick hands and one handed finish. The 100mph exit velo certainly got everyones attention. Solid backstop with a clean transfer and strong arm (POP time 2.07-2.15).

Christopher Florentino OF / SS / Hazleton Area, PA / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 103 / POS: 17
A lot of upside and ability. Prototype power OF build (6'2", 195 lbs.). Put all tools on display from the start, running a 6.72s - 60 time. Really figuring things out at the plate. Has good control of his length; delivering a powerful swing (Exit Velo- 95mph) and a lot of barrels. Also showed well in the field, taking good routes and showcasing a strong arm (OF Velo- 84mph).

Freddy Corrado RHP / 1B / Hazleton Area, PA / 2027An exciting follow for sure. Long, loose athletic frame (6'3" 170 lbs.). Really whips the ball on follow through. Excellent 3-pitch mix and still learning; starting pitcher material. High spin on every pitch. FB up to 84mph with a 2,231rpm spin rate. CB spin up to 2,559rpm with a 1-7 shape.

Tanner Stroup LHP / OF / Altoona Area, PA / 2026
Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 3
Very talented 2-way player. Top of the charts on every metric. Came out showing blazing speed (60 time- 6.68s) Balanced stance, compact swing with full extension through contact. Found the barrel on every pitch (Exit Velo-99mph).Very strong accurate arm, throwing lasers from the OF at 88mph. Got on the mound and was dealing. The LHP was up to 85mph on his FB with arm side run. Worked downhill and could locate both sides of the zone. Showed a tight SL with late break.

Kade Sell RHP / 1B / Bishop Guilfoyle, PA / 2025
Rankings StateRank: 101 / POS: 26
Good athlete (60 time- 7.02s) that shined on the mound. Loose effortless arm action. FB sat mid-uppers 80's, topped at 88mph with growth potential. Through CB backdoor for strikes. Also showed some juice with the bat; loud contact (Exit velo- 93mph).

Ryan Schoppy RHP / SS / Susquenita , PA / 2026Someone we see improve each time out and still has a high celling. Really competitve and explosive on the mound. Fast arm and long stride. 6'4" frame, FB gets on you quick. High spin FB at 2,300rpm with good velo (86mph). CB has 12-6 shape starting at your chest and breaking down and out of the zone.

Eric McAllister 3B / RHP / Altoona Area , PA / 2027
Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 3
Freshman has 2-way potential. Strong stocky build. Balanced approach at the plate. Stays behind the ball and has an explosive finish. Exit velo already at 93mph. Also impressed on the mound. Uses a strong lower half well and has a quick arm. FB sat in low 80's, top at 82mph. Lives down in the zone with every pitch.

Camden Swogger C / OF / Bellwood-Antis, PA / 2026Solid overall day. Athletic catcher with a strong acurate arm (POP time- 2.06-2.09, C Velo- 75mph). Lefty hitter stays on plane well and explodes through contact. Barrel after barrel with a 90mph Exit Velo.
