Team Nevada: Zane Kelly

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

With the PBR Future Games exactly one month out, we are going to take a look at the prospects selected to represent Team Nevada. These are the best Uncommitted prospects that our state has to offer in the 2022 - 2023 classes and are expected to be some of the first prospects off the board. I am extremely excited about this years team with level of talent that will representing our state against the top Uncommitted players from around the country.

Zane kelly - OF/LHP

#1 Ranked 2023, Zane Kelly, is a high upside two-way prospect that leads a talented group of incoming sophomores who make up the core of Team Nevada. Kelly ran his fastball up to 85 mph on a frigid January night after putting on an impressive round of batting practice and easy, confident actions in the outfield. In the shortened season, he announced his presence in the preseason after a runner tried to go first to third on a base hit to right field only to be gunned down by Kelly on a perfect catch and tag throw. Kelly has already garnered the attention of multiple schools and is a prospect that should shine on the biggest stage for Uncommitted prospects at upcoming Future Games.

The TrackMan Pitcher Update is coming Wednesday, July 15 to ETA (Elite Training Academy) for pitchers to update statistical categories on their PBR Profiles for players in the 2021-2024 classes.

THIS EVENT WILL BE LIMITED TO 30 PROSPECTS

Prospects will throw a 20 pitch TrackMan evaluated bullpen.

The TrackMan system provides the most advanced data retrieval insight on the market today. The TrackMan integrates with high-speed video, managing external cameras and capturing video clips directly into the app automatically – and pairing the video with each pitch. Pitchers can see the complete pitch trajectory in 3D, create defined tags to label and compare pitches, pin pitches together to create tunneling visualizations between different pitch types, and much more. Pitchers will have access to release speed, spin rate, spin axis, release height, extension, horizontal and vertical break and location on each pitch.

Key ball flight metrics will also live inside player profiles at PrepBaseballReport.com for the benefit of college coaches and recruiters, which will help prospects advance to the next level. Whether indoors or outdoors, the Portable tracks every ball with equal reliability to eliminate the necessity for guesswork. It combines the best of image tracking, radar technology and video analysis to output the most accurate data in every environment.

Data has become the ultimate separator of prospects over the past few years and this event will provide an opportunity to see where your metrics stand currently.
