Our third and final Underclass Games of the 2019 summer took place Sunday June 14 at USF. There was a lot of talent on display all over the field in Tampa. The players went through a pro style workout and simulated game in front of the PBR Florida Staff. Today, we will take a look at the player analysis of all the players in attendance at the Underclass Games USF.

Brady Browning SS / 3B / Aucilla Christian Academy, FL / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 110 / POS: 26 Strong and athletic frame at 5 foot 10- 180 pounds. Short arm action with throws across the infield with accuracy and carry and velocity of 84 mph. Soft hands with fluid footwork and quick clean exchange while playing through the ball. Balanced setup at the plate with a leg kick to create rhythm in the swing and strong lower half. Gap to gap hitter with pull side power and level bat path and above average bat speed with exit velocity of 88 mph. Opens up in game swings a little, but has barrel awareness.

 

Nicholas Romano SS / C / American Heritage, FL / 2021 Strong and athletic frame at 6 foot 1- 185 pounds. Short arm action with throws across the infield with accuracy and carry and velocity at 80 mph. Soft hands with fluid footwork and quick clean exchange and plays through the ball on grounds balls. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and short stride to create rhythm in the swing and use a strong lower half. Gap to gap hitter with some pull side power and level bat path and average bat speed with exit velocity at 81 mph. Good barrel awareness and knack for getting hits in games.

 

Ashton Fedorek LHP / OF / Seminole, FL / 2021 Lanky and athletic frame at 5 foot 10- 160 pounds with room for growth. Short arm action from the outfield on throws with accuracy and life with velocity at 85 mph.  Quality first step with fluid footwork and clean exchange while playing through the ball. Balanced setup at the plate with bar load and short stride with some rhythm in the swing. Line drive hitter with some pull side power and level bat path and above average bat speed with exit velocity at 87 mph. As a LHP throws from throw ¾ arm slot with quick arm speed with fastball at 82-83 with some downhill action, slider at 72-73 with sharp break and commands both pitches for strikes. Clean and easy effort while opening to the 3rd base side a little. High upside as a player with good actions all around.

 

Troy Reader C / 3B / Berkeley Prep, FL / 2023 Strong and athletic frame at 6 foot – 170 pounds.  Short arm action from the catching position with accuracy and carry on throws to 2nd base with pop times at 2.05-2.15 with fluid footwork and clean exchange. Strong hands receiving with good lateral movement blocking. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and short stride. Line drive hitter with level to uphill bat path and average bat speed with exit velocity of 81 mph.

 

John Schroeder C / 1B / Lakewood Ranch, FL / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 86 / POS: 11 Strong and athletic frame at 6 foot – 165 pounds with room for growth. Short arm action at the catching position with accuracy and carry on throws to 2nd base with pp times at 1.95-2.05.  Strong hands receiving and fluid footwork blocking with good lateral movements. Fluid footwork at 1st base and soft hands and plays through the ball on ground balls. Balanced setup at the plate with smooth load with short stride from both sides of the plate. Has average bat speed from both sides with 82 mph exit velocity from the left side and 79 mph exit velocity from the right side. Brady Meer 3B / 2B / TNXL Baseball Academy , FL / 2020 Athletic and average frame at 5 foot 10- 160 pounds. Short arm action with some carry and accuracy on throws across the infield and average arm strength with 79 mph velocity. Soft hands with fluid footwork and clean exchange and plays through the ball on ground balls. Balance setup at the plate with smooth load and short leg kick from both sides of the plate. Above average bat speed from the right side with 90 mph side and average from the left side with 79 mph exit velocity. Line drive hitter from both sides with level bat paths and some pull side power from right side.

Athletic setup at the plate with smooth load and short stride and average bat speed with 83 mph exit velocity. Line drive hitter with a level bat path and rhythm in the swing.

 

Lex Sanchez RHP / RHP / Hagerty, FL / 2021 Athletic and average frame at 5 foot 10- 166 pounds with room for growth. Short arm action with accuracy and carry on throws across the infield and 80 mph velocity across the diamond. Average hands with slow fluid footwork with a clean exchange and plays through the ball. Crouched balanced setup at the plate with smooth load and short stride and strong lower half. Line drive hitter with level bat path and some pull side power with average to above average bat speed with 84 mph exit velocity. James Hill RHP / 3B / JW Mitchell , FL / 2021 Strong and athletic frame at 6 foot 1- 185 pounds.  Throws from the ¾ arm slot with short arm action and average arm speed with fastball sitting at 82-83, curveball 64-65 slows arm down a little, changeup 67-68 and near fastball arm speed, commands all pitches for strikes. Easy effort and smooth rhythm and stays in line to home with delivery.

 

Frank Micallef C / RHP / Wharton, FL / 2021 Strong athletic frame at 6 foot 1- 200 pounds. Short arm action from behind the plate with accuracy and carry on throws to 2nd base with pop times 2.0-2.1.
