643 DP Cougars 17U

Cullen Orr, RHP, Pope HS (GA), 2021
5-foot-10, 165-pound right-hander made an extended relief appearance for 643 during the weekend and flat out got after it for 4+ innings. The junior topped at 85 on the day and sat mostly 84 in his outing but had some 83’s mixed in and showed quite the feel for his 69-71 slider that was the go to pitch during the outing. If Orr needed a big pitch, whether to strand a runner or a full count, the slider was the go to pitch and it proved to be a wise choice for the righty. He has a quick arm and there should be more in the tank for him as he fills out and gets stronger; the arm action is clean and repeatable.

James McCoy, OF/1B, Wesleyan School (GA), 2021
6-foot-4, 190-pound switch-hitting outfielder and first baseman, long, projectable frame, athletically built, present strength with much more to come. An offensive force from both sides of the plate. Takes a wide, crouching setup, hands load back smoothly, reverse toe-tap stride, great balance throughout. Does a nice job of keeping things short and using his long levers to his advantage. Gap-to-gap type approach, drives the ball back up the middle with a short, quick swing, smooth actions at the plate. With improved launch angles, will be able to consistently hit the long ball.

Parker Lester, 3B, Calhoun (GA), 2021
Miami (OH) commit. 6-foot-3, 190-pound left-handed hitting third baseman, strong, athletic build, one of the more impressive bodies in attendance at the Adidas Three Stripe Classic, moves with smooth actions. Offensively, open setup, hands load back, long stride, great balance throughout. Ball jumps off the bat with little-to-no effort, short to the zone, long through, drives the ball gap-to-gap, looks to elevate and let it fly. Had multiple balls hit with 90+ exit velocities including a bases loaded two-run double in the championship that came off the bat at 94 mph.

Alyjah Richardson, RHP, McEachern (GA), 2021
6-foot-2, 165-pound right-handed pitcher, lean athlete with wiry strength. On the mound, arm works clean and continuous on the back-side to a ¾ slot, quick hand speed. Tall and fall delivery works on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over towards first. Fastball sat 83-86 with sink, located the pitch well early in his outing. Curveball, tight spin, 11/5 shape, 69-71.
Ben Medley, RHP, Pope (GA), 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, durable frame. On the mound, arm works with some length on the back-side, continuous motion to a high ¾ slot, quick arm speed. Smooth drop and drive delivery, works on-line, finishes with a short cross over, walking down the mound. Did a nice job changing speeds, showed a three pitch feel, comfortable throwing all three in any count. Fastball sat 82-84 with sink. Slider, slurve-like, 11/5 shape at 71-73. Changeup, mostly straight, deceptive, maintains arm speed and slot, sinking action, 71-75. During warmups, before the inning, tossed in a few curveballs in at 71-73, shape was similar to slider but had more break to it.
John Armstrong, RHP, Harrison (GA), 2020
Auburn commit. 6-foot, 180 pounds; proportional strength throughout. Showed a very impressive arsenal of pitches. Primarily out of submarine delivery. Fastball from sub sat 81-84 with heavy run and sink; ran FB on RHH hands with aggression. Showed good arm strength from traditional OH slot at 88-89. Threw slider from low slot at 72-74; very late bite that looked like FB out of hand. Tough matchup for hitters on the weekend.
Riley Frost, SS, Pope (GA), 2021
6-foot, 160 pounds; athletic, lanky build. Right handed hitting shortstop with impressive all-around skillset. Loose hands at the plate with pull-side approach. Turns on inside fastballs with ease. Good approach with strike zone awareness. Impressive defensively. Feet work extremely well on approach. Funnels in ball and works towards the base.

Connor Larson, SS, Flowery Branch (GA), 2021
5-foot-9 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop, athletic build, strong lower half. Offensively, athletic, crouching setup, smooth rhythm throughout, hands load back as he uses a leg kick timing trigger, gets good use of his legs. Gap-to-gap type hitter, drives the ball, flashed the ability to elevate for power.
Jayson Longacre, RHP, Westminster (GA), 2021
6-foot-3 185-pound right-handed pitcher, long, lanky frame, plenty of room to fill out. Arm works with some length in a continuous motion on the back-side to a ¾ slot. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, lands toe open, finishes square to home. Fastball sat 81-82, commanded the with, gets good angle working downhill. Changeup is his go-to pitch, maintains arm speed and slot creating deception, late sink. Has more in the tank.
Barrett Braves

Clay Tyas, RHP, Chestatee (GA), 2021
6-foot-0 165 pounds, the junior righthander cruised in his outing punching out 10+ while sitting 83-87 with some life and pounding the fastball to both sides of the plate. He spun a quality breaking ball in the mid 70s and there is a lot to like about the underclassmen. He has a wiry frame that presents the opportunity for him to fill other and add strength.

Jimmy Cox, LHP, Wesleyan (GA), 2021
5-foot-10, 140 pounds. The junior lefthander filled up the strike zone inning after inning working 76-77/T79 from a low 3/4 slot that allowed him to have arm side run on the fastball. He competed all day long and mixed in a 68-69 mph breaking ball.

Sox Baseball

Thomas Collins, SS, Newnan (GA), 2020
5-foot-11 165 pounds. The LHH SS had a monster weekend and left a lot to like both offensively and defensively about him as a player. The SS Flat raked all weekend finding barrel after barrel and collecting hit after hit. Chances were this weekend if it was in the strike zone, Collins hit it. The swing was fluid, flat and long through the zone and Collins showed off athleticism on a triple down the line. Defensively he made all the routine plays and made strong accurate throws on a couple of DPs.

Keegan Rich, LHP/1B, East Coweta (GA), 2020
6-foot-3 225 pounds. The imposing physical presence did not have his best command on the day which led to a short outing. In the outing Rich showed why the University of New Orleans called his name however with an 84-88 mph heater that has life to it. He didn’t flash off speed during the outing.

Chandler Tillman, RHP, Whitewater (GA), 2020
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11 155-pounds, lean athletic right-handed pitcher. Continues to pick up where he left off week after week. Arm works short, reaching back, accelerates with above average arm speed to a high ¾ slot. Fastball played up to 86, sitting 83-85. Effective with slider, maintaining arm speed and slot, creating deception.

Donovan Cash, 3B, Northgate HS (GA), 2020
5-foot-10, 190 pounds. All Cash does is hit and that was no different today. He tallied 2 hits and found barrel multiple times. The Tennessee Tech Commit continues to just hit every time he’s seen.

Dirtbags

Matthew Kahn, RHP, Jordan (NC), 2020
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, durable frame. Arm works long, showing high on the back-side to a ¾ slot. Clean drop and drive delivery, works on-line lands square, finishes crossing over towards first base. Commanded his fastball early on, running it up to 86, got swing and misses with, settled in at 81-85 the rest of his outing. Curveball flashed bite at-times, 12/6 shape, 70-73.
Jeffery Davis Jr, OF, Mount Tabor (NC), 2020
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, athletically built with strength in frame, more to tap into. Offensively, starts balanced with high hands near earhole of helmet, hands drop and barrel flattens out on load, short leg lift stride, good balance. Natural loft in swing as it travels uphill through the zone, quick hands, showed the ability to handle pitches up in the zone, driving them with line drive contact.
Luke Hutchinson, RHP, Jordan (NC), 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed pitcher, large, wide frame, strong lower half, definitely more in the tank as he adds muscle to his thick frame. Arm works long with a stab on the back-side, showing early, accelerates out to a ¾ slot, repeats. Drop and drive delivery, lands toe-open finishing with a slight crossover. Feel for a three pitch mix. Fastball sat 79-82, flashed sink low in the zone, more velo to come. Curveball, 11/5 shape, controlled around the zone, 68-70. Changeup, fade action, 73.
Georgia Scorpions 18U

Cole McDaniel, LHP, East Paulding (GA), 2021
6-foot-3, 180 pounds; long, lanky projectable frame. Clean arm from a H3/4 slot; slight hesitation on arm draw. Works down the mound gets out in front upon release. Consistent arm that has been impressive in previous PBR events. FB ran up to 81, but there is plenty in the tank. Curveball had big shape at 67-68. Changeup has shown to be a useful pitch in the arsenal, in the past.
Tanner Folds, LHP, Sonoraville (GA), 2021
Penn State commit. 6-foot, 175 pounds. Calm delivery that picks up aggression after separation. High front-side and OH slot. One of the more impressive secondary pitches in changeup. Sat 72-74 with very good deception; came out of hand similar to FB. Worked fastball around the zone at 82-85. Set the pace with FB and felt confident in CH with runners on base. Competitive outing.
Hagan Banks, RHP, Calhoun (GA), 2021
6-foot-4, 185 pounds; long limbs with considerable strength in build. One of top uncommitted arms in the state and showed why over the weekend. Fastball sat 88-89,T90 out of the bullpen. High leverage situations that brought out uber-competitiveness on the mound. Ran FB on RHH hands. Curveball had sharp action at 75 mph. Impressive outing that showed Banks can throw in different situations than just the starter role. Ranked 25th in the GA 2021 class.
Brett Campbell, OF, Hampton (GA), 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, proportional build, athletically built. Offensively has been one of the most consistent hitters we have seen at LakePoint throughout the entire summer and now into the fall. A natural hitter, hits from a slightly open setup with weight displaced on his back-side, hands start back, cocks wrist on load, high leg lift stride, good balance through contact. Has quick hands which lend themselves to a smooth line drive type swing, uses the entire field. Can really move on the basepaths and is aggressive, always looking to take the extra bag. A gamer.
Grind Unit

Adam Dorn, IF/RHP, Cherokee (GA), 2020
5-foot-11 160-pounds. Athletic framed MIF. Really good actions in the field. Could move well, and field the ball on both sides of his body. Athletic, loose arm on the field and on the mound. Was up to 78, FB was 77-78. He pounded the strike zone, and forced weak contact. Fields his position well. Worked well up the middle on double plays. Good all around athlete that could get it done anywhere on the field.

Blaise Fischer, LHP, Etowah (GA), 2020
6-foot 150-pounds. The crafty lefty made 2 appearances for long stints on the mound. He pounds the strike zone, and put his FB where he wants to. FB was 76-78, and had a great CB in the 60’s. It has good actions, and has the 12-6 break. He can flip it over at any time. He can put it for a strike, and have it start in the zone and break out of it. He is not afraid of throwing the FB with 2 strikes, and competes in on hitters. All around competitor. He pitches in a tough region for high school, so we look forward to seeing him control a big part of Etowah’s innings on the mound.

Blaine Ingram SS/RHP, Cass (GA), 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher. Offensively, balanced setup, hands load back smoothly with some drop, short leg lift, smooth rhythm, good balance throughout. Takes a line drive approach, consistently squared balls back up the middle. Really stood out defensively for his high baseball IQ, commands the infield from shortstop, showed great body control on throws made on the run.
Rocky Mountain Lobos

Seth Beals, RHP, Rocky Mountain (CO), 2021
5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed pitcher, proportional build. Arm works long and clean on the back-side, hides the ball well throughout, over-the-top slot. Drop and drive delivery, works on-line, lands square finishing walking off the mound. Fastball sat 79-80, controlled the zone with. Relied heavily on his 12/6 breaking ball, went to it in any count and was effective in throwing it for strikes, maintained arm speed.
Will Vasseur, SS, Rocky Mountain (CO), 2022
6-foot-2 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop, strong, stocky frame, athletic build, will see more power in all overall game with continued physical development and firming up of the frame. Offensively, simple setup, balanced, hands load back smoothly with a short stride, good balance and rhythm. Gap-to-gap type hitter, drove the ball back up the middle on multiple occasions throughout the Adidas Three Stripe Classic. With added strength to frame will possess a considerable amount of pull-side pop down the road.
Brogan Stevens, RHP, Rocky Mountain (CO), 2020
Imposing arm at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. Arm works well out of a OH slot with significant downward angle.. Quick, repeatable delivery. Fastball had very good command with some sinking action at 84-85; 5 mph spike from the spring. Strong-built uncommitted arm; ranked 39th in Colorado 2020 class.
Sandy Plains Wildcats 18u

Ethan Washington, SS, Hillgrove (GA), 2020
5-foot-10 170-pounds. Physical, athletic framed SS that is well built. He has a strong lower-half that gives him power at the plate. Good hands at SS, and can flip the ball on the run and from the side. Has a good strong base at the plate, and makes hard contact consistently. Looks for his pitch to drive early in the count. Manages the game from SS, and takes control when the ball is in the air in the infield.

Arm works short and clean to a high ¾ slot. Drop and drive, stays tall, working on-line. Fastball played up to 86, sitting 83-85. Good feel for his offspeed as well. As a catcher he possesses advanced tools with a strong arm and the grittiness to get dirty. Offensively has consistently shown the ability to drive the ball.
Jake Ferguson, LHP, Lebanon (TN), 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-3 188-pound left-handed pitcher, proportional build with room for filling out. A bit unorthodox in his delivery with a coil at balance point and swing gate stride, repeats well. Arm works continuously to a ¾ slot, gets down the mound with good extension. Fastball sat 82-83, touched 85, controlled the zone with. Highly competitive, attacks the zone and forces contact.
Jack Keele, RHP, Warren County (TN), 2020
Trevecca Nazarene commit. 6-foot-3, 190 pounds; lean, athletic. Long, loose arm with above average effort delivery. Stays on-plane and balanced, throughout. Fastball had armside run at 80-83; have seen up to 86. CHangeup came out of hand with ease at 72 mph; nice tempo-changer and control. Sharp curveball at 74 mph that worked well to get hitters to chase. Top 100 player in 2020 TN rankings.
Foundations Sports Mingin

Austin Stephens, RHP/1B, West-Oak (SC), 2021
Tall, lanky righty that gives it his all when he is on the mound. FB was 83-85 and topped out at 86. Really emphasizes his finish, and does a good job of staying in his backside all the way down the mound. Gets good extension on both the FB and CB. With his frame he projects well, and shows to have more velo in the tank.

Jayce Blalock, OF, Trinity Christian School (GA), 2022
5-foot-9, 196-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, strong, muscular build, looks like he belongs on a football fields as a running back. Offensively he was a force at the plate all weekend long. Balanced setup, hands load back smoothly, hanging leg kick timing trigger, gets into his strong lower half, good balance throughout. Gap-to-gap type hitter, easy swing, drives the ball with force, consistently found barrels and elevated the ball. One of the top bats at the Adidas Three Stripe Classic and in Georgia's Class of 2022.
Georgia Roadrunner 17u

Ian Kennedy, 1B/RHP, Whitefield Academy (GA), 2020
Michigan commit. 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-handed hitting first baseman, physically advanced athlete with strength throughout frame. Has really come into his own offensively, showing better feel at plate and more coordination than we had previously seen. Has tapped into his raw power with great results, quick hands get to and through the zone with high level bat speed, ball flies off the bat, even on miss hits.
Jose Andara, SS/RHP, Central Points (FL), 2021
5-foot-8, 175-pound ultra athletic right-handed hitting utility player, can literally play anywhere on the diamond given his athletic tools. High energy player, acts as a spark plug for the GA Roadrunners lineup. Gets after it offensively with controlled aggression, swing works smoothly through the zone as his ultra quick hands guide the barrel in a level path. Once the ball is put in play, it is on as he pushes the defense with aggressive base running. One of the most fun players to watch that has come through LakePoint in both the summer and fall seasons.
Andrew Dover, RHP, Milton (GA), 2021
6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, broad shoulders on top of a long, projectable frame, will add a significant amount of strength down the road as he fills out and physically matures. Arm works short and clean with easy effort to a high ¾ slot, pulls down through release with quick arm speed. Stays tall throughout delivery, working on-line. Fastball sat 83-84, mostly straight, occasional run. Curveball had 12/6 shape, backs up on him at-times, when in the zone induces swing and misses, 65-67.
Davis Day, RHP, Mill Creek (GA), 2021
6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Loose sidearmer that knows how to pitch. Was very successful against a potent Knights lineup. Fastball ran armside while sitting in the mid-70s. Kept hitters guessing with slider that Day would slightly raise arm-slot for. SL had late action at 66 mph; very consistent, well-controlled pitch.
Zion Taylor, OF, Hope Christian (GA), 2021
6-foot-3, 170 pounds; very athletic body and movements. Showed a smooth, strong left-handed swing. Hits from wide base with up-and-down load. Minimal hand movement that generates considerable hand speed. Long limbs give leverage to lift ball. Swing really works and moves well all over the field.
Landon Depratter, 3B, Mill Creek (GA), 2021
6-foot-1, 180 pounds; continues to grow into frame. Depratter seems to look more comfortable and confident each time we see him. The athletic infielder swung the bat well for the Roadrunners. Put good swings on balls all weekend; was just missing on a few, but showed the aggression and ability to handle the bat. The load is calm and controlled, but the swing is quick and aggressive. Advanced actions at third base. Strong carry on throws.
Next Level Baseball

Will Brown, OF/SS, Rickards (FL), 2021
5-foot-8, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and shortstop is built with strength throughout his lower, apparent athleticism. Continues to impress offensively with his approach and consistent ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap. Taps into the overall strength of his frame, especially his legs, to drive the ball. Hands work athletically and quickly to get the barrel head out and gain extension through the zone. Great hand eye coordination and feel for the zone allow for him to barrel up pitch after pitch. A must watch at-bat every time he comes to the plate as he can take one deep at any moment. Launched a two-run home run 357 feet, 92 mph exit velocity, on Saturday evening against Georgia Roadrunners.

Slider was his go-to pitch, frisbee like action with ample amount of horizontal break, located on both sides of the plate, caused fits for opposing hitters, 66-67. Also offered up a fading changeup at 71.
