Westfield, IN - In the final game of the 2017 Future Games, Team Illinois came away with a 6-0 win over Team Indiana. With the win Team Illinois moved to 1-2 on the weekend.

Team Illinois’ stable of arms silenced the Indiana bats throughout and pounded the strike zone throughout. RHP Zach Lee (Effingham, 2019), RHP Kyle Wisch (Hinsdale Central, 2019), RHP Greg Ziegler (Joliet Catholic, 2019), RHP Xander Rojahn (Elk Grove, 2019), RHP Zachary Gould (Joliet Catholic, 2019), RHP Tyler Schlaffer (Homewood-Flossmoor, 2019) and RHP Ben Hernandez (De La Salle, 2020) each threw one inning and did not allow a baserunner past second base the entire game.

Team Illinois got on the board with two runs in the second inning. Casey Kmet (St. Viator, 2019) doubled home JD Miller (Oswego, 2019) and was later knocked in on a Clark Elliott (Barrington, 2019) triple.

Illinois would go on to score one more in the seventh inning and three more in the top of the eighth. In the eighth Ziegler tripled into left-center field to score Elliott who had reached on an infield single. Benji Brokemond (Walter Payton, 2019) then singled in a run and 2020 Jack Mahoney (St. Viator) doubled home Brokemond for the game's final run.
