Third Team All-State

Pitcher

Colby Fanning RHP / 3B / Strawberry Crest, FL / 2021

Fanning was one of many two-way players who impressed at Preseason All-State. He is a lanky and lean 5-foot-11, 145 pounds.  In the infield, he has soft hands and displayed an average arm on throws to first. Offensively, his swing is simple. He keeps his hands back and lets the ball get deep. Average bat speed with a line drive approach at the plate. Fanning impressed the most on the mound where he was 81-84 mph with arm-side run. Fanning comes from the high ¾ arm slot and has a repeatable delivery to the plate. He added an above average changeup at 76-78 mph and a curveball at 71 mph.

Landon Kiefer SS / RHP / Braden River, FL / 2021

Athletic and lean frame at 5-foot-10, 150 pounds. Carry and accuracy on throws with soft hands and fluid footwork in the infield. Line drive hitter with a balanced setup at the plate and a short stride with a level bat path. As a RHP, he stays in line to home with his motion and throws from the ¾ arm slot. Sitting 83-84 mph with the fastball and 69-70 with the curveball with some depth. Has good arm speed on off speed and commands all pitches for strikes.

Xavier Lopez OF / LHP / Lake Nona , FL / 2022

The left hander had a gutsy performance getting several really good hitters out. He missed barrels by hitting the corners and flashing an above average curveball. He sat 74-76 and topped 78 with some arm side run. Showed potential offensively with good hip movements and some bat speed.

Catcher

John Schroeder C / 1B / Lakewood Ranch, FL / 2021

At 6-foot, 185 pounds, Schroeder adds strength to the already athletic frame which set him apart from the get-go. In the infield, he shows the mobility and arm strength to play in the middle or on the left side. He’s active and has the body control to stay balanced and make a strong, accurate throw. Above average arm behind the plate with 1.90-2.00 pop times. At the plate, he is similar from both sides with strong swings that get through the ball as it jumps off his bat. He stays inside the ball with consistency left handed with line drives to the opposite gap and tends to stay in the pull side gap from the right side where he has a bit more natural ability.

Travis Stapleton C / 1B / South Lake, FL / 2020

Strong and athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Moves well laterally behind the plate blocking with strong hands receiving. Quick footwork and clean exchange to 2nd base with pop times to 2.0-2.18. Balanced setup at the plate with short leg kick to create rhythm in the swing. Has a level bat path and hits gap to gap with some pull side power.

First Base

Henry Politz 1B / OF / Jesuit, FL / 2020

Strong and athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. Accuracy and carry on throws from the outfield. Average hands and fluid footwork with clean exchange fielding ground balls. Balanced setup at the plate with leg kick to create rhythm in the swing with level bat path and pull-side power.

Middle-Infield

Jake D'Altrui SS / 2B / Fort Myers, FL / 2022

Balanced setup at the plate with short stride to create rhythm in the swing. Line drive hitter with a level bat path.

Christopher Roberts SS / 2B / Steinbrenner, FL / 2022

Roberts is an athletic 5-foot-10, 155 pound middle-infielder. He stood out at the Top Tier Roos tryout this winter and continues to get better. Defensively, his hands are quick and he has an average arm with short arm action. At the plate, he has an aggressive swing with above average bat speed and seems to always find barrels. He starts slightly crouched with a medium stride. He showed the ability to drive the ball to the pull side.

Quentin Meadows SS / 3B / King, FL / 2022

Was a standout at the Top Tier Roos tryout and he continued to show potential for an electric toolbox. Quick smooth hands in the infield, was 81-82 across. Offensively, he starts tall and gets into launch with a whippy, hands load. Creates good leverage in the movements. Currently gap to gap with some power potential.

Third Base

Tyce Moore 3B / OF / St. Johns Country Day, FL / 2022

Moore is a strong third baseman at 6-foot, 205 pounds. Defensively, he moves well for his size. In the outfield, he plays through the ball with an above average arm. Average hands in the infield with short arm action. Offensively, he starts in an open stance and has an aggressive swing. Moore has above average barrel awareness and showed the ability to have power to all fields.

Outfield

Brady Loughren SS / OF / Bishop Verot , FL / 2021

At 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, Loughren possesses a wiry, athletic frame with room to mature and fill out. In the outfield, he has spring in the first step and active feet as he makes a play on the ball and also flashes an accurate arm. In the infield, the lower body plays well as the feet stay moving but in control, and the arm is actually a tad better as he was clocked at 86 mph across the diamond. At the plate, Loughren sometimes tries to get a little big as he will close himself off from the right side but he is starting to understand his swing as he sprays line drives over shortstop and second base when he stays within himself.

Carter French OF / LHP / Jesuit, FL / 2022

Tall, lean frame. Some upside both on the mound and positionally. Sat 80-81 on the mound. Curveball was above average at 72-73 with a 12-6 shape. Deliberate delivery with good timing and sink into the backside. Gets some arm side run on the fastball at times. Command is there. In the outfield, the arm was right around 80 with a quick release. Had some impressive rounds of BP with a lot of barrels in the middle of the field. Creates a good line to and through the ball. Has rhythm and good extension. Interesting follow as he matures.

David Baillio OF / TNXL Academy, FL / 2021

Lean and athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds. Quality first step in the outfield with accuracy and carry on throws. Balanced setup at the plate with a short leg kick to create rhythm in the swing with a level bat path and hits line drives.

Ethan Phillips OF / RHP / Calvary Christian , FL / 2022

Line drive swing with a gap-to-gap approach. On the mound, Phillips works from the high ¾ arm slot with short arm action. He is a low effort pitcher and stays in line towards the plate. His fastball sat 79-83 mph and mixed in an above average curveball at 68-69 mph.

Davis is an athletic two-way player who can play almost every position on the field. He has a tall, athletic frame at 6-foot, 165 pounds. In the outfield, he plays through the ball and has an above average arm that was up to 85 mph. In the infield, he has a quality first step with soft hands and had throws of 84 mph. Behind the plate, he was 77 mph to second with pop times of 1.97-2.02. Offensively, Davis starts quiet with a short stride. He has an uphill swing and hits gap-to-gap.
