Georgia Scouting Director

The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Wolverines went 35-3 with a state championship last season, and this years team is more experienced, and could be more talented from the team a year ago. Left hander Mason Banks will be their go to guy on the mound again. He competes and fills up the zone, giving the line up a chance to for run production. Samford commit, Andrew Gillespie and Wingate commit, will be back in the line-up leading the way along. The good thing for Coach Osborne is that he has one of the strongest junior classes in the state with Georgia Tech commit, Judson Hartwell at the helm. Hartwell was one of the best hitters in the state this summer, and is primed for a big year. Griff Bryant is an uncommitted junior that has the chance to have breakout year. He has had one of the strongest preseason performances we have seen this year. Luke Burnett made an impact last season, and '24 will be no different, he is solid as they come at short, and will be on of the guys in the line up. Catchers Mac Bradley and Ben Chatham are also 2 uncommitted juniors that could have big years. As for the underclass talent we will wait and see who makes appearances on this upperclass heavy roster. Sophomores Dylan White and Eli Attaway are 2 to keep an eye on as well as freshman Hudson Hill, who just secured a state championship in football. The Wolverines line up could put up double digits on the scoreboard consitstly, so if the arms can be consistent they should find their way back to the state championship in 2024. They have some big time non-region match ups that will really put their talent to the test with Gainesville and Augusta Christian being 2 big names.
