2021 Senior State Games: North Region Analysis

The 2021 Senior State Games took place Saturday, September 25th and Sunday, September 26th at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, FL. The event featured players from the 2022 class representing their region of North, South, East, and West Florida participating in a pro-style workout followed by 3 total games per region in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff.

The weekend was full of talent from all 4 regions, but the South finished at the top going 3-0 throughout the event. To view all the stats from the event, check out our Stats Story. Today we will start with our Player Analysis breaking down each player's tools and projection through complete scouting reports. We will start with the North Region. Take a look.

North Region Analysis

Ryan Braddock SS / 2B / Williston, FL / 2022

5-foot-10, 155-pound lean athletic frame. Athletic in the box, the switch hitter clocked an exit velocity of 88 mph. (62.54 mph bat speed average). (19.12 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then used a short toe tap stride. Had efficient bat speed, upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Smooth athletic while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 79 mph; has a clean natural exchange, smooth rhythmic feet, and soft consistent hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. From a ¾ slot, showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a consistent arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.18.

Aiden Butler RHP / North Florida Christian, FL / 2022

6-foot-5, 190-pound solid athletic build. Solid on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a long arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed athletic balance point with even shoulders. Lands open with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 80-82 mph and topped out at 83 mph; has command in the zone and hard action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2334; Avg 2188). Throws his sharp changeup (73-74) with slight fading action and down in the zone command. Throws his sharp changeup (73-74) with down in the zone command and slight fading action. Ethan Grover RHP / 1B / Liberty County, FL / 2022

Princeton Commit, 6-foot-3, 195-pound strong athletic frame. Solid projectable on the mound, showed lightning quick arm speed with a long arm action and low ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses high effort. Displays in line shoulders and a consistent balance point. Lands square with a falling off finish. Slider (67-69 mph). Sat with his fastball at 85-88 mph and topped out at 90 mph; has a heavy fastball that showed control around the zone and hard running action. (Max spin 2234; Avg 2058). His tight curveball (67-69) had slurvey action and down in the zone control. Throws a sharp changeup (75-76) with down in the zone command and fading action.

Jackson Hiatt 1B / RHP / Pensacola Catholic, FL / 2022

6-foot-5, 215-pound strong mature frame. Solid above average during batting practice, Hiatt had a max exit velocity of 99 mph. (69.08 mph bat speed average). (23.36 mph hand speed average). Begins in a tall balanced stance with a quick controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Had electric bat speed, short swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Solid showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 85 mph; had consistent sure hands, a clean quick exchange, and smooth footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a long arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.31.

Brandon Hoang OF / RHP / Dean Bozeman, FL / 2022

5-foot-10, 165-pound athletic strong frame. Solid in the box, Hoang recorded an exit velocity of 88 mph. (57.68 mph bat speed average). (19.04 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then used a controlled quick stride. Has average bat speed, upward swing plane and high finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Line drive gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 79 mph; showed consistent soft hands, athletic feet, and a quick clean exchange. Solid recorded an outfield position velocity of 85 mph; has smooth rhythmic feet, a clean exchange, and consistent hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a ¾ slot and a long arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.31.

Bradley Hodges LHP / OF / St. Johns Country Day, FL / 2022

Virginia Commit, 6-foot-1, 185-pound solid athletic build. Solid above average on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a long arm action with lightning arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Has an athletic balance point and uphill shoulders. Lands square with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 87-89 mph and topped out at 90 mph; throws a heavy fastball with hard running action and command around the zone. (Max spin 2327; Avg 2221). Throws a tight curveball (69-73) that has swing and miss action and down in the zone control. (Max spin 2308; Avg 2246). Throws a sharp changeup (74-75) with fading action and in the zone control.

Mason Jantomaso C / 3B / Winter Haven, FL / 2022

5-foot-9, 180-pound solid athletic build. Solid in the box, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 89 mph. (61.31 mph bat speed average). (20.93 mph hand speed average). Began in a tall balanced stance with a tight compact load, then used a short controlled stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed a short swing plane and high finish. He found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, throw downs to second topped out at 73 mph; had a clean fluid transfer, consistent soft hands, and athletic footwork. consistently had pop times of 2.04-2.12. Athletic setup with some flexibility. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a short arm action and a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 8.12.

Egan Keeler OF / LHP / Jensen Beach , FL / 2022

5-foot-10, 185-pound solid athletic frame. Solid on the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a long arm action and a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows decent effort. Even shoulders and an athletic balance point. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph; has both sides of the plate control and running action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2415; Avg 2205). Threw a tight curveball (69-71) with down in the zone command and swing and miss action. (Max spin 2215; Avg 2149).

Alex Lodise SS / 3B / Bartram Trail, FL / 2022

North Florida Commit, 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 92 mph. (65.92 mph bat speed average). (22.64 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced tall stance with a slow rhythmic load, then uses a short leg kick. Bat speed was explosive, had an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid projectable in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 92 mph; has smooth rhythmic feet, soft consistent hands, and a clean natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a ¾ slot and a short arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.87.

Jordan Logsdon LHP / LHP / Lincoln, FL / 2022

6-foot-4, 185-pound long athletic build. Solid on the mound, showed quick arm speed with a long arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed consistent balance point and even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 79-82 mph and topped out at 83 mph; had hard running action and control around the zone with heavy movement. (Max spin 1976; Avg 1812). Throws a tight slider (65-67) that has down in the zone control and sweeping slurvey action. (Max spin 1795; Avg 1653).

Eli Maddox C / 1B / Paxon, FL / 2022

North Florida Commit, 6-foot-3, 215-pound solid mature frame. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 94 mph. (69.47 mph bat speed average). (21.04 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a tight compact load, then used a short quick stride. Had an upward swing plane, efficient bat speed and level finish. Found some barrels with a lot of loud contact. Aggressive pull side approach. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 74 mph. Behind the plate, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 74 mph; shows a quick clean transfer, smooth athletic feet, and soft consistent hands. produced pop times of 2.06-2.11. Started in a crouched stance with a smooth rhythmic load, then used a short controlled stride. Has explosive bat speed, short level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid when throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 89 mph; had a clean natural exchange, consistent hands, and smooth athletic footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a long arm action and a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the base. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.90.

6-foot, 185-pound strong athletic frame. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 98 mph. (60.74 mph bat speed average). (21.88 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced crouched stance with a quick tight load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was explosive, had a short upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Smooth athletic in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 84 mph; had choppy footwork, consistent hands, and a clean exchange. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.79.

Hayden Perry C / Episcopal, FL / 2022

Samford Commit, 5-foot-11, 205-pound solid mature build. Solid in the box, Perry clocked an exit velocity of 97 mph. (67.82 mph bat speed average). (20.74 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a small load, then used a short leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, uses a short simple swing plane and high finish. Dylan Stojanovic 1B / OF / St Joseph Academy, FL / 2022

6-foot-4, 185-pound long athletic build. Solid at the plate, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 94 mph. (67.87 mph bat speed average). (21.90 mph hand speed average). Starts in an open stance with a high load, then uses a short toe tap stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed a long level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Dakota Stone LHP / OF / Sandalwood, FL / 2022

Jacksonville Commit, 6-foot, 215-pound solid mature build. Above average projectable on the mound, showing lightning arm speed he used a ¾ arm angle and a long arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses decent effort. Has an athletic balance point and uphill shoulders. Lands square with a falling off finish. Isaac Williams RHP / Fleming Island, FL / 2022

Jacksonville Commit, 6-foot-2, 205-pound athletic physical frame. Solid projectable on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses decent effort. Showed tall balance point and even shoulders. Lands square with balanced finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 91-93 mph with a max of 94 mph; has command in the zone and hard running action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2674; Avg 2540). He shows fading action and command around the zone on his sharp changeup (82-82). His tight slider (79-82) showed slurvey swing and miss action and down in the zone command. Max Williams OF / 1B / Clay, FL / 2022

Alabama Commit, 6-foot-2, 200-pound strong athletic build. Solid projectable at the plate, the left-handed hitter was ranked 2nd with an exit velocity of 102 mph. Started in a tall athletic stance with a quick compact load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, displays a short flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Aggressive pull side approach. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 89 mph; had choppy footwork, soft hands, and a natural exchange. Solid athletic from the outfield, he showed plus arm strength by making throws to the infield at velocities up to 93 mph; shows consistent hands, a quick clean exchange, and smooth feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Using a long arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the bag from a ¾ slot.
