The 2024 Wisconsin high school baseball season is here and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the spring season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the Badger State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in their respective WIAA Division State Championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. In the weeks leading up to the opening day, we released our initial Power 25 Rankings, which can be found here. Now we will take a look at teams that earned Power 25 consideration with these 'Teams to Watch' pieces.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across Wisconsin. Each week we will be releasing our Power 25, Players of the Week, Diamond Notes, Scout Blog and much more.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Elkhorn Area returns their entire roster—which elevated their stock in the 2023 circuit—after struggling to find a rhythm during the spring last year. With the help of their pitching staff, the Elks could make some noise in the WIAA this season.

LHP Brolan Frost (2025; Iowa commit) thrived in Georgia and in multiple looks throughout the summer timeline—dicing up opponents with a mature arsenal of pitches. The left-hander presents a confidence and competitiveness on the mound that allows him to find success, as he will be a consistent arm that Elkhorn Area looks up to in 2024.

He will be joined by the likes of RHP’s Wyatt Rushing (2024; Rock Valley JC), Abe Herchenbach (2025) and Paulson Yesbeck, all of whom emerged as standouts across the past calendar year. Rushing was a winner at the Top Prospect Games back in July—slinging in a fastball in the upper-80s to low-90s.

Herchenbach and Yesbeck each found their rhythm over the winter—flashing potential to be dominant starting arms for this Elks’ squad in a tough Southern Lakes Conference.

UTL Jake Lueptow (2024) and C Owen Paddock (2025) will be tasked with creating a spark on the offensive end for this older group of prospects at Elkhorn Area. It’s a part of the team’s game where they struggled last season, as it will be key for them to score runs consistently to alleviate some pressure off of their pitching staff.
