St. Laurence (15-8, 6-6 Catholic Blue) rallied past No. 1 St. Rita (26-2, 10-2 Catholic Blue) in eight thrilling innings 6-5. Trailing 5-4 with one out in the bottom of the seventh, St. Laurence’s Tom Farrell singled home the tying run knotting the game at 5-5. In the top of the eighth, St. Rita put two men on base with one out. St. Laurence’s Anthony Robles entered the game and retired St. Rita’s Shane Peisker and Tyler Halas to put out the fire. With two out and Viking runners on first and third, Kevin Aderman ripped his third hit of the game, a single to center, plating Sean Burnette with the Viking walk-off game winner making a winner of Robles.
No. 20 Brother Rice (21-6, 9-3 Catholic Blue) routed No. 3 Providence (19-6, 9-3 Catholic Blue) in six innings 11-1. Jake Guzek fired a three-hitter at the Celtics while Andrew Dyke hit a grand slam homer for the Crusaders. Ryan King fell a home run shy of hitting for the cycle and had two RBI.
