The Virginia/DC Scout Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from the PBR Staff. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, committed players, and draft prospects. We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocity, pop times, home to first times, and more. This running blog is continuously updated throughout the year as we continue to cover the commonwealth and DC to create more awareness of the players across the state.
State Scout blogs are one of the most highly viewed pages on the PBR website. It is a tribute to our never ending quest of discovering talent across our area of coverage and our boots-to-the-ground approach to scouting. So what is better than being in a scout blog? Having a PBR profile to connect you with. Find our next event near you.
On Friday, April 6, Fauquier traveled across town to take on Warrenton rival Liberty-Bealeton, with the Falcons pulling away late in the game to win 9-4. Here are notes on four players who stood out in the game:
Fauquier
Blaze O'Saben SS 2018 (UMBC)
O'Saben has an athletic frame, moves well on the infield and is quick, fields ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short action, average arm strength with accuracy. At the plate, hits from the right side from an open athletic stance, short level line drive swing with some bat speed. Showed good approach in game, using the entire field, flying out to deep right, singling to center twice, and singling to left. His speed is probably his best tool and is game-changing when he is on base. Ran 4.06 home to first.
