On Saturday, January 13th, Prep Baseball Report Arizona hosted the Glendale Preseason ID at Apollo High School in Glendale, AZ. The Glendale Preseason ID is an open event held for prospects in the 2024-2027 classes in the state of Arizona. Giving the players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the PBR Arizona Staff using state-of-the-art technology on field.

Ismael Hinojosa C / OF / Odyssey Institute, AZ / 2024

Ismael Hinojosa, a catcher from the Odyssey Institute, stands out as the most college-ready prospect according to the Arizona staff. Renowned for his exceptional defensive skills, Hinojosa boasts a strong arm, clocking in at 78 mph, and precise throws to second base with pop times ranging from 1.90 to 2.0. Positioned as a middle infielder, Escontrias impresses with his above-average glove work, showcasing a quality first step and accurate throws across the infield. At the plate, he maintains a consistent and controlled approach, working with a flat to slightly uphill swing path. The anticipation for Escontrias lies in his projected growth with added size and strength, suggesting that significant improvements are on the horizon. As he navigates his high school career, Escontrias stands poised for big-time strides in his game.

 

 

Rowen Williams OF / RHP / Crimson Cliffs, UT / 2024

Rowen Williams, a multi-sport athlete hailing from Crimson Cliffs in Utah, exhibits an impressive blend of athleticism and power on the baseball field. Standing out with a notable exit velocity of 101.7, Williams showcases a strong and athletic frame, honed by his involvement in football as well. His prowess lies in the right-handed batter's box, where he showed consistant pullside power. Williams employs a stiffer flat to uphill swing path, contributing to his commanding offensive presence.
