Here are five players that have made a significant jump in the 2025 class rankings. See video and notes on these players.

Luke Alexander RHP / SS / Riverbend, VA / 2025

Listed at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Longer limb and high waist. Easy operation that repeats well. In control when he is on the mound and gives you a potential starter feel. The fastball was mid-upper 80's when we saw him this spring and shows above average command for a high school arm. While we only saw two primary pitches in the fastball/slider combo, the quality of those two pitches allows for some hope he can add and show a third to continue to add to his value. The slider was 81-83, so the arm speed is there, and it showed some tight 11/5 shape as well.

Eli Carroll 1B / RHP / WESTERN BRANCH HIGH, VA / 2025

Athletic, potential two-way talent. The arm is what stood out early about Carroll, who is a guy we have not been able to get many looks at, but the bat came on as the season progressed as well. Slow build up tempo on the mound. Short, quick arm action working mid-upper 80's and getting up to 89 mph. Primarily fastball-breaking ball combo when we have seen him and profiles best as a reliever right now. Left handed bat with a short, compact swing and can really get the barrel turned. Has shown some carry in the gaps and solid feel for the barrel.

Connor Doherty 2B / SS / ROBINSON SECONDARY, VA / 2025

Compact frame, fairly narrow base, simple pick up and replace to stride. Hands make a late, deeper load and delivers a level path barrel through the zone. Quality bat to ball skills, some pull side tendency, and shows the ability to make adjustments with two strikes. More second base profile right now with above average hit tool and occasional power potential to pull.

Myles Mayse C / 3B / PDG Academy, VA / 2025

This is the first spring we have seen the Oklahoma commit, as he was previously in Texas. One thing is for certain with Mayse, he can absolutely hit. He had a slash line of .375/.474/.542 this spring. Nearly one-third of his hits were extra base hits and can get it done from both sides of the plate. Tends to be a more connected swing and operation from the left side, but has shown some in game power from the right side. He was aggressive early in counts and hit over .400 on balls in play. Pop times between innings and in game ranged in the low 2.00-2.09 range.

Jake Wise RHP / Benedictine College Preparatory, VA / 2025

Plain and simple, one of the best PITCHERS in the state. Not a "top velo" arm, does not an have elite breaking ball, but flat out pitches and gets outs. At some point and time it is more production and results based when it comes to rankings, as opposed to projecting. The William & Mary commit works in the 85-88 range, will touch a 89, throws both secondary pitches for strikes, and has one of the best changeups in the state. The arsenal depth is well above average because he can land both with the changeup being the clubhouse leader over the spin. Effort and intent, fills up the zone, and the fastball tends to play a touch quicker than the mid-upper 80's velo. Wise had a dominant spring and is well worthy of a bump in the rankings.
