On Wednesday, November 8th, thousands of high school baseball players across the country signed their National Letters of Intent to successfully fulfill their dedication to playing baseball at the collegiate level, with several players in Kansas alone going through this process. 

Since then, the PBR Kansas staff has spent some time highlighting those names that signed their NLI to play baseball at the Division I level. We broke down several conferences already that featured a multitude of names from the 'Show Me' state, and you'll find those linked below:

Below we've taken a look at some of the other names in Kansas that signed with Division I programs earlier this month. Continue reading to see where various different players from our state are headed across the country next fall.

AKRON 

Caden Howell RHP / Lansing, KS / 2024 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete with strength throughout, particularly in the lower half. Simple, athletic, and controlled operation. Fastball plays in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph both in pens and game looks for our staff. Depth and shape on breaking ball at 75-77 mph, feel to land it for strikes. Also throws a low-80s changeup at arm speed.

AUSTIN PEAY

Mason Pangborn SS / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2024 Lean athletic frame that's added strength over the last calendar year, though is still capable of adding more. Staple on the infield defensively, has the actions and confidence to stick on the dirt at the next level. Fluid left-handed hitter with rhythm and feel to spray line drives to all fields.

INDIANA STATE

Weston Lyerly RHP / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2024 6-foot, 170-pounds. Trended up this year as a name-to-know arm in this class. Athletic mover downhill with a short quick arm action. Fastball plays in the upper-80s, touching 90 mph at the 17U National Championship this summer. Sharp swing-and-miss bite on an upper-70s slider, thrown with intent and plays off fastball plane. Has the stuff to be a potential impact arm at the next level.

ST. BONAVENTURE

James Umbarger RHP / Lansing, KS / 2024 Large presence on the diamond, listed at a hulking 6-foot-6, 210-pounds. Two time All-Conference selection for the Lions. Heavy fastball plays in the mid-to-upper-80s. Able to land both his breaking ball and changeup for strikes. Physical arm that's able to fill up the zone with three pitches.

SOUTHERN

Ronnie Ross Jr 1B / FL Schlagle, KS / 2024 6-foot-4, 285-pound left-handed hitter with strength and physicality at the plate. On the barrel often throughout BP at the Engaged Athletics Scout Day this year.

FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON

Jake Miller C / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2024 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete with compact strength. Showed quick hands with gap-to-gap feel at the Preciscion Scout Day earlier this year. Looks the part of an asset defensively, especially behind the plate. Agile blocker, chests up the baseball and works. Short quick trigger to release, on the bag with accuracy. Also up to 89 mph from the outfield in a workout setting.
