The 2024 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Alabama.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Jacksonville/Oxford/Montgomery area at the AISA or AHSAA state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Alabama. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each AHSAA classification.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each AHSAA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Cedar Bluff Tigers head in to the 2024 season with aspirations of looking to take the next step within their program, and potentially make the Class 1A playoffs at the end of the season in the process. From last year's team, the Tigers return the majority of their offensive success and have mutliple returning pitchers on the mound, making that goal seem attainable going into this spring. 

The Tigers believe that while they have seven positional starters returning, the pitching should be one of the main strengths of this year's team. They have mutliple players who will play both ways and have plenty of experience at the varsity level doing it. RHP/INF Kaden Pack (2024) will certainly be one of their leaders in the clubhouse this spring, and should once again help lead the way on the field, as well. RHP/INF Bryson Teague (2026) is another notable returner with a long 6-foot-5, 185-pound build. The sophomore has a chance to build off of last year's freshman campaign at the plate and on the mound. LHP/OF Isaac Bishop (2025), RHP/C Alex Baty (2025), and RHP/INF Hunter Stallings (2025) are a trio of juniors who bring back valuable experience and will be looked upon to take on bigger roles this spring. Rounding out the upperclassmen, RHP/UTL Caleb Edmondson (2025) is another junior who should see his workload increase on both ends this spring. RHP/INF Samson Mallett (2026) is another player to know this spring, as he's one of the top underclassmen within their programs and has a chance to make an impact this spring.

After missing out on the playoffs the last couple of seasons, the Tigers are sure to be eager to kick the season off this spring with many familiar faces back inside the program. The Tigers will compete in Area 13 against Coosa Christian, Gaylesville, and Spring Garden at the end of the regular season for a berth in the Class 1A playoffs, and will be a team to follow closely in Class 1A in 2024.
