With the year coming to an end, our staff is taking some time to highlight and reflect on the most viewed profiles in Missouri throughout 2023. We’ll be counting down to the top spot, starting with No. 10 earlier in the week working our way down, releasing the most viewed name prior to the end of the year.

Our profiles serve as an all-in-one platform for players, hosting vendors such as verified stats, event video, contact information, and more. To create a free PBR profile, click HERE.

We've already released three stories, which you can find here:

+ No. 8 Grady Westphal
+ No. 9 Whit Rhodes
+ No. 10 Jack Schwab

We’ll keep making our way to No. 1 on our list today with the seventh most viewed profile in the state this year, INF Colton Sims (Shawnee Mission East, 2025; Vanderbilt commit).

There aren’t many pure hitters in the state better than Sims, regardless of class. It’s a pure, simple, and balanced right-handed swing that effortlessly works gap-to-gap with backspin feel off the barrel. Sims, a two-time PBR Future Games participant, especially impressed at this year’s event, drawing high praise from Shooter Hunt afterwards:

From 8/11/23: “...Sims continued his consummate hitterish vibes that have been seen for well over a year now including a booming home run. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds there is some present durable strength on his athletic frame, and looks to have much more on the way. Posting a max exit velocity of 97 mph in batting practice, he combined that with some sneaky athleticism that included a 7.03 60-yard dash time with quality movements at the hot corner. However, the bat is what is sure to be the calling card. A toe-tap stride allows the hands to strike the barrel through the zone with real impact that includes a two-handed finish. The simplicity of the approach combined with impressive torque (and the bat speed) shines well on the future run-producing potential.”

A few months after the event, Sims committed to a Vanderbilt program with plenty of known pedigree behind him. Still only a junior, Sims appears to be just scratching the surface of his future as a middle-of-the-order type bat.
