2024 LHP Cam Caminiti (LSU commit) jumped up from the 2025 class to the 2024 class last summer and quickly propelled towards the top of MLB Draft boards as he established himself as one of the top high school players in the country. He got the start at Prep Baseball's inaugural All-American Game in Milwaukee back in September and worked a dominant first inning, and he carried that into the high school season. En route to the 4A State Championship, Caminiti led the way for the Sabercats, both on the mound and at the dish.

The LSU commit was dominant from start to finish on the mound as he went 9-0 with an ERA of 0.93. He struck out a staggering 119 hitters while allowing just 14 walks across 52.2 innings. The most memorable moment of his season came in March against Deer Valley where he pitched a five-inning no-hitter, allowing just one walk and while striking out 16. The left-hander had double digit strikeouts in his final six starts, including 13+ in four of the six.

While he's known for what he's capable of on the mound, he also continued to swing the left-handed bat an extremely high-level during the 2024 high school season. Caminiti batted .493 across the season with an impressive .679 OBP and picked up 12 extra-base hits including three HRs. The name Cam Caminiti will go down Saguaro's baseball program history following his run this past year and over the past three seasons.

We're now less than two months out from the 2024 MLB Draft and Caminiti will be a name to watch on Day One (July 14) as the first and second rounds go off the board.
