Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri

With the year coming to an end, our staff is taking some time to highlight and reflect on the most viewed profiles in Missouri throughout 2023. We’ll be counting down to the top spot, starting with No. 10 earlier in the week working our way down, releasing the most viewed name prior to the end of the year.

Our profiles serve as an all-in-one platform for players, hosting vendors such as verified stats, event video, contact information, and more. To create a free PBR profile, click HERE.

We've already released three stories, which you can find here:

+ No. 3 Cole Pladson
+ No. 4 Keaton Neal
+ No. 5 Deacon Pomeroy
+ No. 6 Jack Jones
+ No. 7 Colton Sims
+ No. 8 Grady Westphal
+ No. 9 Whit Rhodes
+ No. 10 Jack Schwab

We’ll keep making our way to No. 1 on our list today with the second most viewed profile in the state this year, RHP Anson Seibert (Blue Valley Southwest, 2024; Tennessee signee).

Seibert’s meteoric rise as a prospect started last year, where the 6-foot-9, 225-pound giant impressed at almost every stop and committed to Tennessee. He turned in several strong looks throughout this year as well, starting during the high school season in front of our staff.

From 4/22/23: “...On track to be a day one pick in next year’s draft, Seibert is worth the price of admission. The 6-foot-8, 235-pound right-hander moves exceptionally well especially for the coordination needed to control his long limbs. The Tennessee commit has a smooth delivery with very little effort that allows him to repeat at a high-level and for his stuff to jump on hitters. Seibert is a rare talent and will likely be one of the highest draft picks out of KS in recent history.”

(3/23/23)

Seibert had a handful of other notable looks throughout the year, like at Creekside, PDP, and the Area Code Games. As a member of the White Sox squad in late August, Seibert turned scouts’ heads in San Diego.

From 8/23/23: “...Standing at every bit of 6-foot-8, Anson Seibert had one of his most promising outings of the summer on a huge stage. High-spin, working downhill at 94-96 mph with some heaviness, but explosive at the top of the zone. Good feel for a tight breaking, low-80s slider and changeup creates depth out of the same tunnel as the fastball at 85-88 mph. Created 12 whiffs in just two innings of work, fanning five overall with consistent IZMs. There’s a substantial ball of clay to build on with the Tennessee commit.”

2023 Area Code Games

Now a senior, Seibert’s final high school season will be a pivotal one from a draft point of view. He’ll almost certainly be a hot commodity for professional teams to check in on, perhaps a handful of times throughout the spring, as Seibert has a chance to be one of the highest prep selections from Kansas in some time.
