It is with great excitement that we release to you today, our first update to the MD/DE Class of 2026 rankings with our Top 50 release. Following today's Top 50 release, we will unveil the full Top 100 on Thursday. Throughout this week we have highlighted new faces and risers whose stock has taken a jump in the past few months.

Today we turn our attention to the Top 50, including the Top 10 list below with a few key players inside the Top 50.

Remaining at No. 1, University of Maryland commit Eli Livingston (St. Paul's) continues to flash on both sides of the ball and cement his status as the top player in the class. Possessing an agile and strong 6-foot, 170 pound frame, the body maturation continues to develop and the smooth left-handed stroke has made strides each time our staff sees him. The added heaviness in the barrel certainly sticks out, and the added strength both in the swing and the arm bodes well.

Backstop Landon Daniel (Stephen Decatur) jumps into the rankings for the first time in this update after a stellar showing at the Mid-Atlantic State Games this November. The swing is strong for the class that shows some twitch in the hands that allows plenty of whip in the barrel through the zone (77.2 bat speed). Line drive tendencies with the ability to utilize the whole field is consistent, while also showcasing an occasional ability to backspin with authority to the pull side. Quick, clean transfers behind the dish with accurate throws looks to keep Daniel behind the plate in the future.

Another standout from the Mid-Atlantic State Games makes their first appearance in the 2026 rankings, as Carter Sweeney-Strawberry (Sherwood) slides inside the Top 20. A 6-foot-2, 170 pound outfielder, the athleticism and metrics jump off the board, turning out a 6.82 60-yard, 87 mph from the outfield and consistently powering balls to the middle/pull side to the tune of a 90 mph exit velocity. It's an uphill path at the plate, creating consistent lift to the pull side that should transfer well to added power once the frame fills out. A highly important winter awaits, heading into the Spring campaign with back-to-back-to-back state champs, Sherwood.
