PITCHER OF THE WEEK | ETHAN PETTIS

The UMD commit had a stellar week on the mound that included a no-hitter against Maple Grove on May 9. The right-handed quelled a rising Crimson lineup in 92 pitches that featured 11 strikeouts and just three walks. The Bengals won the game 3-0.

Pettis also hit cleanup in the game, and finished 2-for-3, driving in the first run of the game in the 5th with a hard ground ball up the middle.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK | AIDEN SMITH

Aiden Smith RHP / 1B / Rockford, MN / 2024

Rockford's 14-4 season has a lot to do with the influence of Iowa Central commit Aiden Smith. They swept their four games the previous week, outscoring their opponents 32-to-3. Smith hit .727 with two home runs, a triple, a double, five runs driven in and scored another six on his own. He also did plenty of work on the mound as well, going 2-0 with 23 strikeouts and just three walks in 11 innings of work.

Smith is currently slashing .482/.500/.893 with 4 home runs and a team-leading 26 RBI.
