The road to the highest levels of baseball can be interesting. It’s paved with a little of everything, such as hard work, patience, getting breaks and, well, fate. And it intersects with the likes of injury, dealing with major competition and failure, and often times toiling in relative anonymity.
Consider participants in the recent Prep Baseball Report Colorado Showcase held at Highlands Ranch High School. The love of the game and yearning to play in college brought a couple of dozen high-schoolers to the Falcons field in hopes of bettering themselves and finding some exposure.
