Preseason All-State Roster Preview: Part One

As we get prepared for our premiere event of the year in the Preseason All-State, we start the process by breaking down each individual attendee with notes on videos their game. The Preseason All-State attracts some of the top talent from all across the state creating platforms and driving eye-balls for recruiters and scouts at the next level to help guide them throughout the spring recruiting. This year's event will take place once again at Oral Roberts University of February 11th featuring a pro-style workout with data collected by our tech partners, social media coverage, and updated video for the profile.

Colin Allen 3B / RHP / Deer Creek, OK / 2026We last caught Allen at the 2023 OKC Preseason ID where the INF/RHP showcased a projectable body and some skills that should continue to improve as he gains strength. Allen stays behind the ball at contact well at the plate with a rotational swing and showed a consistent line drive approach. In the infield he moves freely with active feet and showed a feel for glove action. On the mound he worked the fastball up to 80 mph but showed a clean arm action that should provide for more velo in the future.

Zack Brame C / RHP / Antlers, OK / 2025Brame previously attended the OKC Sandlot Scout Day last May where he impressed with his quick transfers behind the plate yielding showcase pop times as low as 2.0 Offensively he works the hands tight to the body with short and direct routes to the ball and was only beginning to tap into his strength. On the mound he showed a shorter arm action with fastballs working up to 80 mph with heavy arm side run and working a slurvy breaking ball in the mid 60's.

Brock Copass C / 3B / Bixby , OK / 2027We last got eyes on Copass at the Fall Underclass Games last October where the physical freshman showed high upside on both sides of the ball. The 6-foot-1 and 190 pound utility/RHP showed his power potential at the plate with exit velos up to 89.1 mph using quick hands and strong rotatoin around the core. Behind the plate, Copass lets his raw arm strength play reaching 76 mph from the crouch and showcase pop times as low as 2.0. Copass also shows promise on the mound where he's previously topped out at 79.1 mph but don't be surprised to see that number climb rather quickly with his projectable frame and present strength.

Decker Davis C / 3B / Arapaho-Butler, OK / 2025Davis was one of the biggest standouts at the Uncommitted Upperclass games this past fall where the backstop put together a very strong workout, especially behind the plate. Davis reached up to 81 mph from the crouch showing advanced arm strength to yield showcase pop times in the 1.85-1.94 range. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Davis has yet to fully tap into his strength at the plate but has strong balance throughout the swing with clean and efficient routes to the ball.

Wyatt Fitzgerald RHP / OF / Oklahoma Christian, OK / 2025Fitzgerald made big jumps throughout the summer landing him a spot on the 2023 Future Games roster for Team Oklahoma. While his outing on the bump got cut short due to a lightning delay, Fitzgerald showed the type of potential that teams at the next level are looking for. Standing at a projectable 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, he has worked the fastball in the upper 80's in the past with strong tilt and pairs it with a tight upper 70's slider with late life to chase barrels. He also has some potential with the bat in his hands working exit velos up to 93.5 mph in the past with strong bat speed. Fitzgerald should already be on recruiting radars, but he is just a small jump away from upping his stock to being a must-watch prospect throughout the spring.

Kellen Frizzell 2B / Deer Creek, OK / 2024Frizzell has been a known commodity for the Antlers being a high producer with the bat while manning second base spot. Frizzell turned his production into a commitment this past fall to Murray State in Tishimingo where they will take advantage of his athleticism and knack for finding barrels at the plate. Frizzell has the type of frame to continue to make big gains as he adds strength and combined with his proven ability to produce, makes him an intriguing prospect to follow in the coming years.

Nathan Halverson 2B / RHP / Southmoore, OK / 2024We last caught Halverson at last year's Preseason All-State where the middle infielder from Southmoore continued to show gains from previous events. Halverson is the type of player where his production outmatches his present tools thanks to playing with a higher baseball IQ and a knack for making plays. Halverson currently remains uncommitted and will look to continue to make gains at next week's Preseason All-State.

Jason Girdner SS / RHP / Tahlequah , OK / 2026Girdner really stood out this past summer at the WBO Tulsa Prospects Scout Day where the Tahlequah middle infielder put up some impressive numbers. Girdner showed excellent speed running a 6.83 laser timed 60 and showed some hand strength with the barrel in the hands at 89 mph. The athleticism shows up in the swing with a pull side approach and strong rotation around the core. Defensively, Girdner shows a feel for routes and glove action with a strong ability to field on the move. While his future might ultimately be staying up the middle of the diamond, Girdner also gets some action ont he mound with a 4 pitch mix and a fastball working up into the upper 70's.

Bryson Carey OF / SS / Noble, OK / 2025It's been a couple of years since we got data on Carey after he competed in the OKC Sandlot Showcase back in 2022. While the numbers on the profile are clearly out-dated, we caught him a few times throughout the 2023 spring where Carey served as the table setter at the top of the lineup with a pesky approach and a knack for finding himself on base. Carey has a short stroke with a line drive approach and showed the type of athleticism that offers some positional versatility between the infield and outfield.

Tommy Lord OF / OF / Owasso, OK / 2027Lord spent last summer representing Team Oklahoma at the Junior Future Games where he put his short and compact stroke from the left side on display. Lord showed some strength at contact in-game that played higher than his workout numbers would suggest. He has some athleticism already running a sub 7 laser timed 60 and should profile for an above average arm in the outfield. Lord plays with a quiet confidence that paired with his present tools makes for an intriguing follow in the coming years.
