Prep Baseball Louisiana: Scout Blog (Week 11)

Alex Armand & Tyler Leary
Prep Baseball Louisiana Staff

The best time of the spring continued last week with the completion of the quarterfinal round of the 2024 LHSAA playoffs, and our staff was able to get out and see several teams and prospects. Today, we continue our coverage of the 2024 high school season with our updated Scout Blog.  The Louisiana Scout Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from our scouting staff during the high school baseball season. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable.  We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times, and more.

Continue to check back here, as our Louisiana Scouting Staff will add scouting reports, upon the completion of each week.

SATURDAY MAY 4, 2024

+ 2024 SS Michael Ryan (Rummel HS)

Rummel entered last Saturday with their season on the line, after losing Game 1 of their quarterfinal series to #6 seed Alexandria.  The Raiders had to win two games on Saturday to advance to the LHSAA State Tournament, which they did, and Ryan came through in a big way offensively for Rummel.  The LSU recruit went 2-4 at the plate in Game 2 with a HR, 2 RBI, 3 R, and 2 SB, before going 3-4 in Game 3 with a 2B, 2 RBI and a R.  He finished the weekend 6-11 (.545) with a HR, 2B, 4 RBI, 4 R, and 3 SB.  Rummel will need him and the rest of the team to continue hitting on all cylinders this coming week, as they face off with district-rival John Curtis Christian in the Select Division I Semifinals, for a chance to advance to the State Title game, for a second consecutive year.
