Uncommitted Senior Spotlight: Nathan Reiter, LHP

Background: Reiter has grown up through the Lethbridge baseball system and is currently attending the Prairie Baseball Academy College program as a high school player. Reiter will compete against the top high school academies in Alberta during his upcoming spring schedule. He definitely passes the eye test, listed at  6-foot-5, 205-pounds. The left-hander combines a loose arm action and effortless delivery providing arm side run on his fastball while being able to add velocity as he continues to mature. Reiter will look to fine tune his actions and polish his command over the winter, as well fill out his what is already a very projectable pitcher’s body. 

Need to Know: Keep an eye on Reiter this spring as he will be working out and competing against college players. The tall left-hander has only scratched the surface of his potential, and after an offseason dedicated to strength and conditioning, it is easy to see him adding velocity to his fastball this spring. At the Southern Alberta Talent ID in October 2017, Reiter’s fastball was clocked at 80 mph, and has been as high as 82 mph. At this time Reiter’s changeup is his best secondary pitch, with a curveball that shows signs of being a reliable offering as he continues to develop feel and consistency.
