We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 3B/CF Kai Mault from Santa Barbara High School. With an athletic frame at 6' 180 lbs. and high end athleticism Mault presents a dynamic RH hitting offensive profile with hit tool, approach, impact speed and sneaky pop while playing solid 3B defense that flashes intriguing upside with the ability to potential handle a middle of the diamond spot at CF/2B. During mulitple in game looks this spring for Prep Baseball California Central Coast/VTA County scout Steven Hardesty, Mault consistently found the barrel, worked quality at bats, created havoc with his legs and made multiple impressive plays at the hot corner. Mault had an outstanding spring beyond just the looks from Hardesty including a .306 AVG/.388 OBP/.412 SLG with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 11 RBIs, 22 runs scored, 13/12 BB to K ratio with 16 stolen bases in 18 attempts.   His loud offensive ability that shows a top of the order potential with depth to back end of a lineup floor is even more intriguing when you consider he doesn't play baseball full-time as Mault is also a dynamic football player which highlights his upper end athletic ability and high ceiling as a baseball player. Kai has been a 3 year varsity player at Santa Barbara High and helped the program to a Channel League title in 2024. Mault is a name in the '25 class that is a must follow for college programs who has a chance to really raise his profile over the coming months headed into his SR. season after catching the eyes of Prep Baseball California staff.
