Neil Devlin From the Colorado Dugout: Recruiting Colorado Part 2

Consider it as Fantasy Baseball … at least, up to a point.

Imagine, for a moment, that The Greatest Game That Ever Was suddenly was offered in Boulder at the University of Colorado, where it was discontinued because of budget cuts in 1980, and in Fort Collins at Colorado State, where the last NCAA varsity pitch was thrown in 1992.

In this case, club teams don’t count.

And imagine a little further – instead of a parade of local schoolboys heading to play in virtually every other state, the top high-schoolers (or maybe a majority of them) in Colorado stay here in Colorado. And with CU and CSU bringing the number of in-state schools in Division I to four, along with Air Force and Northern Colorado, opportunities abound, notably with the Buffaloes possibly making noise in the very visible Pac-12 Conference.
