OSSAA Team Preview: Rattan Rams
February 28, 2024
Team: Rattan Rams
2023 Record: 26-6
Classification: A
Head Coach: Michael Clay
Total Runs: 265/96
Average Runs: 8.28/3
Average Differential: 5.28
Outlook:
The Rattan Rams swept Class A in 2023, winning both the spring and fall state titles and carry the same expectations into the 2024 spring. The Rams make it hard to beat them by rarely making mental mistakes and playing great team baseball, moving runners whenever they can while still having some serious power at the top of the order. Their pitching staff has some workhorses at the top and have plenty of depth that come in and fill the zone effectively. The Rams beat some high class opponents in 2023 so keep close tabs on them in the upcoming season.
Impact Players:
Keegan Robertson, 2024, LHP/OF, Cowley Commit
2024 P @KeeganR17549472 (Rattan & @CowleyBaseball Commit) has been dominant so far in this one mixing in a FB with heavy ASR with multiple off speed pitches in the zone.

Robertson has been one of better prospects in small school baseball the last few seasons and he shows no signs of slowing down. He has dominated big game after big game as both a LHP and as a power bat from the left side. Robertson works in the mid to upper 80’s to go with a fading CH and swing and miss CB. He has also shown the ability to be a major threat with the bat in his hands hitting 11 HR this past fall.
Logan Smith, 2024, UTL/RHP, Cowley Commit

Smith has been a major producer for Rattan over the past few years as a 2-way talent. The senior is the everyday SS for the Rams but has shown the ability to play OF as well. At the plate the LHH uses a gap to gap approach with some power making him an extra base threat every time he comes up. On the mound, Smith works around 86-88 mph with the FB using a mid 70’s SL to generate swings and misses.
Players To Watch:
James Childers, 2025, INF/RHP, Uncommitted
Keller Shockey, 2025, INF, Uncommitted
Ben Ellis, 2025, RHP/INF, Uncommitted
