CA D1 NCAA Fall Coverage: Cal Golden Bears

Evans Diamond, Berkeley, CA - The D1 2020 season is just around the corner and Fall Games are a great way to get a look at the talent for the season and upcoming MLB Draft. On 11/2/19 we checked out the fall college game between Saint Mary’s and Cal, two teams looking to make their way up the rankings in an area loaded with D1 talent. 

Today we will break down Cal’s draft-eligible players and future draft-eligible players who caught our eye for the 2020 season and beyond. Coming off a strong 2019 season where the Golden Bears made the postseason, Cal will look to carry over that momentum with a deep roster ready to rise up the PAC 12 and make a trip back to the postseason in 2020.

2020 Draft Players:

SS/2B Darren Baker - Junior
Baker shows a lean lithe body standing in at 6-0, 160 and shows the athletic skills to stick in the middle of the diamond. A handsy player in all he does and consistently a 60 runner (4.10-4.14 H-1st) with bursts of slightly better, Baker has the ability to move the ball around the field getting to velocity with offensive game predicated on hand-eye coordination and spraying line drives/ground balls...
