NorCal Underclass Game: INF/OF Reports

ISLANDERS FIELD, LATHROP, CALIF. - The 2023 NorCal Underclass Game took place on Saturday, September 30th at Islanders Field. This event included a traditional showcase workout followed by live at-bats for the pitchers and hitters, with each hitter getting two at-bats.

Continuing our post-event coverage of the NorCal Underclass Game, we take a look at the INF/OFs who were in attendance. Continue to check back over the coming days as we will continue to release scouting reports for every player in attendance. 

INF/OF SCOUTING REPORTS

Romeo Coronado 1B / OF / Washington, CA / 2027

Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Lean trim body type.
Hit: RHH. 55.9 mph avg bat speed with 10.4 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Even feet in wider stance, small negative move with lower body as hands stretch back to deeper load, clean stroke, generally flat, keep head on ball, some length into and through zone as he gets to extension with a fairly compact two hand finish, swing mechanics in place to benefit him when he develops more physicality.
Power: 78.3 max exit velocity, 67.3 mph avg. 244' max distance.
Arm: RH. 1B - 72 mph. Full arm action, developing arm strength, gets ball out of glove quickly.
Defense: Light active feet, confident in glove skills, has agility around the bag, presents self as a confident fielder with a little bit of flair, sound all-around foot and glove work.
ATH: 7.75 runner in the 60, 1.81 and 4.22 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 17.4 max run speed.

Ryan Lujan SS / P / Rocklin, CA / 2027

Body: 5-8, 135-pounds. Lean wiry build, athletically proportioned.
Hit: LHH. 63.1 mph avg bat speed with 10.5 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Slightly closed, small foot lift out to short stride, hands shoulder height with rhythmic waggle, flat swing, keeps barrel on plane, all field hit-ability, finishes swing well through contact. Power: 84.4 max exit velocity, 72.2 mph avg. 258' max distance.
Arm: RH. SS - 76 mph. Loose arm, high-3/4 slot, full effort throws, gets air under ball allowing 1B to make a play, developing arm strength.
Defense: Reads ball action (hops/bounces) quickly, feel for playing through the ball, focused through reception into the throw, clean hands, gets feet in-line to target.
ATH: 7.64 runner in the 60, 1.87 and 4.25 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 18.1 max run speed.

Hunter Lynch 3B / P / Argonaut, CA / 2026

Body: 6-2, 230-pounds. Broad and burly, physical with athletic body coordination.
Hit: RHH. 75.5 mph avg bat speed with 17.7 avg G's of rotational acceleration. BP round ultra-impressive, consistently hard contact, knows his swing and how to get to his power, consistent line drive plane and launch angle speaks to his power profile, combination of hand speed and swing mechanics are outstanding, wide stance, even feet, off the plate, hands above shoulder before calmly dropping into trigger slot in load, into zone quickly and efficiently, top hand provides the impactful finish.
Power: 102.9 max exit velocity, 99.7 mph avg. 398' max distance.
Arm: RH. 3B - 82 mph. Overhand slot, loose arm, accurate, compact on backside and can get ball out quickly, able to drop down to throw on move.
Defense: Crouch into a hopping prep step, light feet and soft hands, moves well within his range, plays below ball, presents self as a confident fielder.
ATH: 7.50 runner in the 60, 1.77 and 4.14 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 18.3 max run speed.

Miles Mino SS / 2B / Berkeley, CA / 2026

Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Long and lean with some budding muscularity.
Hit: LHH. 66.5 mph avg bat speed with 16.3 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Line drive swing, all field ability showed up in BP and in game action, smooth stroke, feel for barrel, consistent attack and launch angles, into zone quickly while showing feel for staying on-plane. Open stance, side stance, starts in crouch, toe tap to small stride, hands start low with vertical barrel before slightly upward load, keeps head on pitch well.
Power: 91.7 max exit velocity, 87.7 mph avg. 275' max distance.
Arm: RH. SS - 77 mph. Compact arm action, can change arm actions to throw on move, throws a bit short, developing arm strength.
Defense: Soft hands, secures ball well, funnels ball from underneath him up to chest into the transfer, small calm hop into prep steps, fields ball slightly closed.
ATH: 7.56 runner in the 60, 1.79 and 4.16 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 18.1 max run speed.

Donnie Rinkor SS / 2B / Analy, CA / 2026

Body: 5-9, 170-pounds. Budding strength on compact build.
Hit: RHH. 68.2 mph avg bat speed with 8.1 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Consistent attack angle to produce impact line drive contact, projects to have enough juice to get into gaps, off plate, feet even in medium width stance, hands over shoulder prior to bat tilt as he stretches into load, slides hips into front side leverage at contact.
Power: 91.4 max exit velocity, 88.2 mph avg. 356' max distance.
Arm: RH. SS - 83 mph. Strong arm for age, overhand slot, takes an extra step to get to max velo, throws were generally short of the bag, did change angle to throw on run.
Defense: Walks into prep step, clean reception of ball with free hand in position to secure ball and get it out quickly, plays low throw ball, footwork is sound, moved well to left and forward.
ATH: 7.55 runner in the 60, 1.82 and 4.18 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 18.2 max run speed.

Ryan Rosenthal 1B / RHP / St. Ignatius College Prep, CA / 2026

Body: 6-3, 220-pounds. Physical and long, man-type build, broad and frame to hold more.
Hit: RHH. 73.7 mph avg bat speed with 12.4 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Every recorded BP swing was 93+ mph, bat speed and hand speed are impactful, fairly compact swing with the power profile suggests he’s going to be able to consistently get to the power, top hand provides impactful finish, pull power profile, wide feet with slightly open set-up, smooth medium stride, hands start low before stretching into load.
Power: 99.3 max exit velocity, 95.8 mph avg. 343' max distance.
Arm: RH. 1B - 78 mph. Short quick snap throw from lower slot.
Defense: Took workout at 1B, hops into prep step, creates clean early body position with footwork, slight left side drop step allows hips to work, moved around with nuanced feel, focused glove work and footwork at the bag, hands work cleanly.
ATH: 7.44 runner in the 60, 1.76 and 4.15 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 18.6 max run speed.

Chase Tidwell LHP / OF / Bradshaw Christian, CA / 2026

Body: 5-10, 130-pounds. Lithe wiry build, developing body, good body control.
Hit: RHH. 52.8 mph avg bat speed with 18.2 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Heavy line drive oriented round, consistent attack angle produced strong sweet spot % numbers, off plate, narrow feet in very slightly open stance, hands start low off near center of body, strides into toe tap out to secondary slight stride, compact load allows, short stroke, gets into zone easily and quickly, flat through contact into one hand finish.
Power: 82.6 max exit velocity, 74.9 mph avg. 207' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 71 mph. Full backside arm action, gets to overhand release, developing arm strength.
Defense: Confidently attacks ball, light feet, smooth into throwing release, presents as a confident fielder.
ATH: 7.87 runner in the 60, 1.86 and 4.33 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 17.4 max run speed.

Cruz Torres OF / Woodside, CA / 2026

Body: 5-9, 160-pounds. Some physicality on a compact, proportioned body.
Hit: RHH. 64.4 mph avg bat speed with 16.3 avg G's of rotational acceleration. Feet outside of shoulders, even feet, middle of batters box, hands just above shoulder to start, slight knee lift out to small stride, hands stretch and slightly lower into trigger slot, focused on staying gap to tap, middle of field approach in BP and game at-bats, showed ability to drive ball to RCF gap.
Power: 90.6 max exit velocity, 82.6 mph avg. 265' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 80 mph. Ball comes out well with modest effort, clean arm, circular arm action on backside with waist level depth.
Defense: Calm moving feet in pre-pitch prep, clean glove skills, fields ball off left foot, reads hops/bounces well, calm and efficient to ball while creating in-line angles.
ATH: 7.13 runner in the 60, 1.72 and 3.97 in the 10 and 30 yard splits, 19.4 max run speed.
