PREP BASEBALL LOUISIANA POWER 25 RANKINGS (FINAL UPDATE)

The Louisiana high school baseball season kicked off on Monday February 19, 2024 with regular season action beginning under LHSAA regulations and the season ended, this past Saturday, on Saturday May 11, 2024 with the completion of the 2024 LHSAA State Tournament.  Ten State Champions were crowned last week and many memories were made along the way.  Now that the season has ended, it's time for us to update our Power 25 Rankings for the final time.

The Top 5

 

Catholic BR finished the 2024 season with a 38-2 overall record and were crowned the Select Division I State Champions last Saturday, after defeating John Curtis Christian by a score of 5-0.  The Bears are the first team to hold onto to the #1 spot for every week during the season, all the way through the final Power 25 Rankings update.  Catholic BR dominated the competition in the playoffs, as they outscored their opponents 51 runs to 3 runs and shutout both Acadiana and John Curtis Christian at the State Tournament.  West Monroe finishes the season as the #2 team in our Power 25 Rankings, which is exactly where they started at the beginning of the season.  The Rebels finished the year with a 31-8 overall record and were crowned the Non-Select Division I State Champions this past Saturday, after defeating Barbe by a score of 5-1.  Lutcher checks in at #3 in this final Power 25 Rankings update.  The Bulldogs were dominate at this year's State Tournament, as they shutout Iowa in the semifinals and North Vermilion in the finals to win the Non-Select Division II State Championship.  Barbe finishes the year as the #4 team in our final Power 25 Rankings update.  The Bucs finished the year as State Finalists with a 34-7 overall record.  John Curtis Christian rounds out the Top-5 of our final Power 25 Rankings update.  The Patriots finished the season as State Finalists with a 28-8 overall record.
