Prep Baseball released the Class of 2024 Rankings update prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, and we now turn our attention to the class of 2025. As our staff updates the rankings, new faces have made their way inside the Top 175.

Below, we take a look at three notable players that are set to make their first appearance in the ranks.

New Faces

Brady Maerz RHP / 2B / Calvert Hall , MD / 2025

In what is a loaded positional group at Calvert Hall, a player that may be flying under the radar is middle infielder Brady Maerz. Possessing a strong, 5-foot-10, 150 pound build, the athletisicm was on full display at the Calvert Hall Scout Day in late October and the hit tool really stood out from the beginning. It's a relaxed setup with strength to the pull side and the ability to spray consistent line drives to the middle. As the frame fills out and muscle mass is added, look for Maerz to add his name to a long list of highly talented position players at Calvert Hall.

Jayden Johnson OF / SS / Riverdale Baptist, MD / 2025

Height, weight and strength are not things that jump off the board when watching the Riverdale Baptist outfielder play, however the ability between the lines is nothing short of electric. Notching a 6.63 60-yard at a scout day in October, Johnson's quick twitch was easy to see early on and it certainly translated at the dish as well. It's a whole field line drive approach with an occasional ability to lift to the pull side and produce some sneaky strength to the pull side gap.

Caden Spangenberg OF / OF / Tuscarora High, MD / 2025

Standing at a solid 5-foot-10, 170 pound frame, the Tuscarora outfielder is yet another under-the-radar bat that should rise up some boards entering 2024. The consistency in the barrel is present with evident strength to the middle, with muscle mass and body maturation steadily on the rise. Strong hands, quick barrel whip and a consistent approach bodes well for the present and near future ability of this hit tool.
