Uncommitted Spotlight: '24 MIF/OF Kyle Sandner

The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as the calendar has turned over and the start of the '24 CIF High School baseball season is quickly approaching we are highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '24 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '24 Class Rankings and remain as the top players left on the board going into the start of their senior season.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our PBR California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a '24 MIF/OF Kyle Sandner from Rodriguez HS.  A good frame at 6' 185 lbs. with a little strength to him presently and a fringe average runner (7.18 secs 60 time, 1.75 sec 10 time and 19 MPH max run speed). He shows a solid offensive toolset with 92.7 MPH max exit velocity with 91 MPH avg exit velocity.  Sandner gets there from a tall stance with a controlled forward move into the land position with a low hand set resting the bat almost on his shoulder and a small load of the hands. His swing is aggressive grading out with intriguing metrics including 26.1 MPH hand speed and 27.5 MPH rot. acceleration. Sandner looks to do damage with each swing and as he continues to polish his approach/timing he will tap into that approach consistently. Defensively, he looks best suited to play an OF corner with average arm strength at 85 MPH, but accuracy on his throws he can handle either RF/LF at the next level. There is a chance he could play 3B/2B at next level with some development. Sandner projects best as a corner OF bat with emerging power potential for a college program, but if he can transition to the dirt the profile increases.
