We would like to thank all who participated in the Lansing Open ID. This was a great opportunity for 2016, 2017 and 2018 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

Michigan Insider: Sneak Peek - Lansing Open ID

The Arms

+ 2017 Cody Freed (Bay City Western HS) is a lanky, 6-foot-4, right-handed pitcher that uses a fastball that sits 81-83 mph, to go along with his 69-70 mph changeup and 65-68 mph curveball. Freed has a quality pitchers frame and quick arm action, throwing the ball on a downhill plane. He should continue to get better with some cleaned up mechanics.

Defensive Standouts

+ 2017 Treyvin Groesser (Portland HS) is an athletic outfield prospect with a wide range of tools. The Portland product has excellent outfield fundamentals and a strong throwing arm. An 82 mph arm from the outfield, Groesser can also reach 83 mph off the mound from the left-side.
