NC: Crest Uses Extras Over Alexander Central
May 16, 2018
Crest hosted Alexander Central in a 3rd round game in the NCHSAA 3A State Tournament on Tuesday. In a pitcher’s dual, the game would come down to each offense being able to create runs vs. the opponents bullpen. Crest walked-off with the win in the 8th.
Riley Cheek worked 6 innings for Crest surrendering just 1 run and 4 hits, while striking out 8. The Cougar run would come in the 6th on a Justin Cook home run to right, tying the game.
Sophomore LHP Bryson Hammer matched Cheek every step of the way, giving up 1 run over 7 innings of work.
