New England Insider: Uncommitted Senior Spotlight - Sam Mikell, RHP
Name: Sam Mikell
Position: RHP
Height/Weight: 6-foot-4, 200 pounds
School: Champlain Valley (VT)
Ranked: 115th in 2016 class
Scouting Report: Big and long right-hander. The slot is above 3/4 and the ball travels downhill out of his hand. The fastball has arm side run to it, and sits 82-84 with leverage. The breaking ball is a plus pitch at 75. The pitch has serious depth and tilt to it. The changeup is average. The body and height is ideal for a high school pitcher. With the addition of weight and innings this guy could be a serious arm down the line.
