Athletic two-way player. Middle infielder on defense with a plus glove and good instincts. Advanced approach at the plate with the ability to hit the ball to all fields.

BRADY HICKSRHP / 3B / SAYDEL , IA / 2027

One of the first invitations to team Iowa-Nebraska as Hicks stepped on the mound with an easy delivery with plus velocity. His coordination was evident with his infield footwork and control of his lanky frame. Hicks' has a fastball that jumped out of his hand, paired with a fierce competitive nature in the game.

MICAH LEYVAOF / RHP / GILBERT, IA / 2027

Leyva ran one of the fastest 60 times at our Iowa Rising Stars events (6.93 60).  In game he has shown plus strength in the barrel as has started to tap into his power, hitting multiple home runs this year. A two-way player at the club level, he has command of multiple pitches.

MATT MEEKEROF / 1B / WAUKEE, IA / 2027

Meeker stood out with the bat in the PBR Spring League in Iowa. He regularly barreled up baseballs in the 18u division with a clean bat path and gap-to-gap approach. His athleticism on defense and plus arm strength locked him into the JFG lineup.

GRIFFIN MINDERMANSS / RHP / PAPILLION LAVISTA SOUTH , NE / 2027

Minderman is a utility athlete that can play all over the field. His athleticism (6.92 60) plays all around the field and has smooth actions on defense. There is a high upside in the box; some quick hands with some lift in his barrel path produce hard line drives to both gaps.

BEAU MORIOC / 3B / CEDAR RAPIDS XAVIER, IA / 2027

Committed to Iowa, this physical catcher stood out with mature tools and strength. He plays multiple positions and has standout metrics at all of them. Behind the plate he showed quiet actions and maturity to help his pitching staff. Quality present strength allows Morio the ability to consistently drive baseballs to both gaps.

LINCOLN NORRISSS / RHP / KNOXVILLE , IA / 2027

Throughout the Rising Stars series, Norris showed some of the cleanest defensive actions in the middle infield positions. He plays with energy and intent and stood out on his high school varsity team as the starting shortstop and top-of-the-order bat for a 30+ win team. He also was a contributor on the mound and showed command of multiple pitches. Norris plays the game with a competitive passion and maturity that will be fun to watch at this level of competition.

MASON OLSONLHP / OF / SOUTH EAST POLK, IA / 2027

Olson is a left-handed pitcher with a three-pitch mix (fastball, curve, and change). He has shown above-average control of all three and ran the fastball up to 80 mph. His lanky, athletic build protects well as he puts on size and strength.

JJ PHILLIPSC / OF / PLEASANTVILLE , IA / 2027

A high-energy player that showed leadership in-game to command a team from the catching position. He offers barrel control with a swing built to drive baseballs and will continue to add power as he develops strength. Phillips also flashed a plus arm from the OF that has carry and accuracy.

DREW RIPPLE3B / RHP / PAPILLION LAVISTA SOUTH, NE / 2027

Ripple has a solid left-handed stroke in the box. His middle-of-the-field approach with easy hands and barrel strength through the ball should impress throughout the week. He projects to be a corner guy on the infield with feet that work around the ball. Developing arm strength will keep him on the left side.

JAMISON SAATHOFFOF / 1B / CREIGHTON PREP, NE / 2027

Long-limbed RHP/OF/1B. Saathoff uses length well on the mound with a fastball up to 83 and swings a barrel-finder at the plate with some pop.

RHYLEE SCHMIDTC / 3B / NORWALK, IA / 2027

Pound for pound, Schmidt is one of the strongest kids on the team. A very twitchy athlete who can play many positions made him a standout through the Rising Stars series. As a pitcher, Schmidt was low to mid-80s and has shown a plus breaker.

CJ SHOCKEYC / 3B / BELLEVUE WEST, NE / 2027

Shockey brings a lot of baseball IQ behind the plate. The top catcher in Nebraska is a natural receiver and blocker with athleticism on throws down to second. His swing projects to have some power to the pull side with some lift and good barrel awareness.

LEWIS WATERBURYLHP / OF / IOWA CITY LIBERTY , IA / 2027

Waterbury has a lanky, athletic build and projects on both sides of the baseball. As an outfielder, he has some twitch to his actions. He has clean movements and aggressively attacks the baseball. With the bat, Waterbury has shown a whippy barrel with a flatter attack. On the mound the athletic traits shine with a quicker clean arm action and the ability to attack with multiple pitches.
