Indiana Player of the Week : Week #8

Our Player of the Week honors will be awarded each week of the high school season. High school coaches will be asked to submit their candidate for Player of the Week after the conclusion of each week, please send all submissions to [email protected] for consideration for this award.

Our Week #8 honors goes to RHP Corbin Snyder of Eastern High School.


Corbin Snyder RHP / Eastern , IN / 2024

The Butler recruit has put together one of the most impressive stat lines of any arm within the state in his senior campaign. He currently holds a 6-1 record, pitching to a 0.86 ERA, with 112 strikeouts (tied for state lead) in 57 innings pitched. This week, Snyder led Eastern to a win in each of his starts (2-0 W/L), striking out 21 batters, while allowing just 3 hits, 3 walks, and 1 earned run. 

 

 


Hogan Denny, C/RHP, Mooresville, Senior

Denny has performed at a high level this spring for the #3 Mooresville Pioneers. Denny went 7 for 14 (.500) for the week with a double, homer, and (6) RBI. The Indiana signee added (3) saves on the mound, striking out (7) in (4) IP.

Isaac Vander Woude, SS, Illiana Christian, Senior

Five of Vander Woude's six hits this week went for extra bases as he collected (2) doubles, a triple, and (2) home runs. In total, the Virginia signee went 6 for 8 (.750), scored (5) runs, drove in (5), and reached base at a .846 clip.

Austin McNabb, RHP, Perry Meridian, Junior

McNabb makes the list for a second consecutive week after earning two wins for the Falcons. The Dayton recruit struck out (11) in (9) innings pitched, allowing just (6) base runners and (1) earned run.

Jack Grunkemeyer, RHP, Batesville, Senior

Grunkemeyer, a Northwestern signee, tossed a no-hitter in (7) innings of work versus South Dearborn. Grunkemeyer came away one walk short of a perfect game, striking out (11). 

Rob Czarniecki, OF/RHP, Chesterton, Sophomore

The uncommitted sophomore has been outstanding for Chesterton this spring. This week, Czarniecki went 5 for 9 (.556) with a double, (2) triples, a homer, and (8) RBI.

Trey Deckman, SS, Columbia City, Sophomore

Deckman swung a hot bat for Columbia City this week. The uncommitted shortstop collected (13) hits in (20) trips (.650) - including (5) doubles and (7) RBI.

Cole Decker, OF, Evansville North, Senior

Decker came up just short of the Player of the Week honors after a 6 for 10 (.600) week for the Huskies. The Indiana signee picked up (4) extra-base hits on the week, including (3) doubles and a walk-off HR versus Evansville Central to clinch a share of the Conference Title. 

Adam Buczkowski, RHP, Carmel, Senior

The Cincinnati recruit collected (2) wins for the #11 Greyhounds this week, beating two Top-10 ranked foes, and allowing zero earned runs in (11) innings of work. Buczkowski allowed just (4) hits over the course of the week, striking out (13). 

Jayce Lee, OF, South Bend Saint Joseph, Senior

Lee led #6 St. Joe to another undefeated week. A Notre Dame signee, Lee went 5 for 9 (.556) with a double, a homer, (4) runs scored, (4) RBI, and an on-base percentage of (.692).

Grady Nelson, INF, Warsaw, Freshman

Nelson has been on this list multiple times throughout his debut campaign. This week, the freshman slugger went 5 for 10 (.500) with a homer, (4) RBI, and (4) runs scored. 

Jamison Lewis, RHP/OF, Southwestern (Hanover), Senior

The Depauw recruit performed on both sides of the ball this week for Southwestern. Lewis earned a win in a complete game performance on the mound, striking out 12, also adding 5 hits in 7 trips (.714). 

Garrett Schmidt, INF, Borden, Junior

Schmidt had a big week for the 1A #7 Braves - going 8 for 13 (.615) with (3) doubles, a homer, and (10) RBI. Schmidt also picked up a win on the mound, working (3.2) scoreless frames with (5) strikeouts.

Eastin Whaley, RHP/INF, Northwestern, Senior

The senior two-way went 10 for 12 (.833) at the dish, clubbing (4) doubles, with (5) runs scored, and (5) RBI. Whaley also went 2-0 on the bump, striking out (14) in (9) innings pitched. 

Logan Gibbs, C, Cascade, Senior

Gibbs helped the Cadets to a Top-10 ranking in our final 2A poll of the season. This week, the Lincoln Trail recruit went 7 for 15 (.467) with a double, a triple, and a pair of homeruns, driving in (8). 

Jeremy Lowrey, RHP, Harrison, Sophomore

A highly-ranked, uncommitted sophomore - Lowrey tossed a (5) inning gem this week, striking out (10) without allowing a run in a win for Harrison.

Tyler Walkey, MIF, Carmel, Senior

Walkey helped the #11 Greyhounds to a 5-0 week. The Depauw commit collected (7) hits on the week, including a pair of doubles, and he scored (5) times and drove in (4). Walkey reached base in (10) of (15) trips (.667 OBP), and stole (3) bases. 

JJ Oliver, INF, Mishawaka Marian, Senior

Oliver went 7 for 11 (.636) for #7 Mishawaka Marian. The senior infielder picked up (3) doubles, scored (5) runs, and reached base at a (.692) clip. 

Ben Kiracofe, INF, Bishop Luers, Junior

Kiracofe was outstanding at the dish last week for Bishop Luers. The uncommitted junior went 9 for 13 (.692) with (3) doubles, a triple, and a homerun. 

Ethan Hendrix, SS, Manchester, Junior

Hendrix was a catalyst for Manchester last week, collecting (11) base hits in (17) at-bats (.647). The junior infielder scored (6) times, drove in (5), and collected a pair of doubles. 

Trey Rominger, INF, Paoli, Senior

A big threat for the 2A Paoli Rams in Week #8 of the regular season - Rominger finished the week 11 for 13 (.846) with (8) runs scored and (4) RBI. 

Jackson McDaniel, Pitcher, Perry Meridian, Sophomore

McDaniel debuts on this list after a dominant week on the mound for the Falcons. Jackson worked (9) scoreless frames, punching out (14), en route to (3) saves on the week. 

Nathan Hawkins, 3B, Tipton, Freshman

Hawkins has been a big contributor early in his career for Tipton. This week, he went 5 for 9 (.556) with (3) runs scored, (2) RBI, and a pair of doubles. 

Monroe Beardsley, 3B, Christian Academy of Indiana, Freshman

Another freshman highlighted for a big Week #8, Beardsley collected (7) hits in (11) at-bats (.636), picking up (9) RBI in total for the week.
