Ontario Insider: Class of 2020 Player Rankings (May)

With rankings becoming polished up and released across the high school age group here in Ontario, we expand the 2020 class from 35 and now bring the total rankings count to 70. This number will continue to grow over the summer and as we enter the start of our schedule which always seems to be “weather pending”.

With a heavy indoor schedule the past three months, many new faces emerged from the 2020 class, and it is encouraging to see the strides and changes these players have made in their game. Arms really start to come into their own and slowly shape into what could be, players start to mature and bodies add strength and muscle.

Either way you put it, it is an exciting time for our sophomore prospects in Ontario and we look forward to putting a heavy focus on this class this summer. By the looks of the rankings and discussions we’ve had internally, this is shaping out to be a very talented group.

We highlight some of the top prospects and a few rises and surprises, to see the entire list click HERE.

NEW NUMBER ONE

Benjamin Adams LHP / OF / Longfields-Davidson Heights, ON / 2020

Report: Ottawa Nepean Canadians product Ben Adams opens the year as Ontario’s new No. 1 in the 2020 class, with his big-three numbers popping off the charts. A legit two-way player at the moment, Adams is a sturdy 6-foot-2, 170-pound left-hander with a fastball that has been up to 86 mph with life, sitting in the 83-85 mph range, and a breaking ball with tight spin. At the plate he’s shown bat speed from the right side with a 95 mph exit velo, and an 89 mph arm from the outfield.
