Pacific Northwest Fall ID: Preview

Josh Schoenberg
Scouting and Operations Assistant

This Saturday, October 14th, the PBR Washington staff is hosting the Pacific Northwest Fall ID at Ridgefield Recreation Complex in Ridgefield, Washington. This is an open event for all high school classes (2024-28), and gives our staff an ample look at the area’s top players.

For a closer look at the showcase details and the technologies we'll have on-site to assist our in-person evaluation for all in attendance, click here. For a complete look at those registered to attend this event, view the most up-to-date version of the roster by clicking here.

2023 ROSTER

Liam Ostrom 1B / 3B / Ridgefield, WA / 2025

Ostrom is a physical presence from the right-side of the plate, standing at a strong and sturdy 6-foot-3, 230-pounds. He has impressed at a variety of events thus far this calendar year, including our Top Prospect Games back in July. There, he posted eye-popping bat speed metrics (avg. 81 mph) during an impressive round of BP. He's also posted triple digit exit velocities in front of our staff before, and we are excited to get an updated look at Ostrom.

 (7/11/23)

Ian Pollard SS / 2B / Rex Putnam , OR / 2025

From 7/22/22: "A polished INF prospect with natural feel for the game both defensively and at the plate, Pollard put together consistent performances all week. Reached base 5 times in 3 games, including 2 hits and 3 freebies. Offensively he had a keen eye in the box while showing a middle of the field, contact approach. Hits from a balanced set up with very few moving parts and a simple load. He’s light on his feet on defense with a sure glove hand and fluid tempo through the ball. High level actions on the exchange. Understands the speed of the play and avoids ever getting rushed to get the ball out. At 5’10, 155, there is still some physical upside to grow into and he has the frame to support additional weight."

(7/27/22)

Brady McCarthy OF / C / Grant, OR / 2025

McCarthy impressed at multiple events during the 2023 circuit, most recently at our Top Prospect Games in June. He is an athletic 5-foot-10, 155-pounds with the defensive versatility to play backstop and the outfield, showing well at both positions. When he stepped in the box, the right-handed hitter showcased hitterish actions with a balanced and smooth swing that repeated easy line drives.

(6/21/23)

Perusing the event roster, we’re set to meet a good amount of players who’ve not yet attended a PBR showcase, and we’re eager to add more names to our follow lists.
