2018 MLB Draft - Canada Recap
There were 10 players from Canada selected in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft, all but two that just completed high school.
Noah Naylor, out of St. Joan of Arc Catholic SS, was the third catcher taken in the draft, selected with the 29th pick of the first round by the Cleveland Indians.
Left-handed pitcher Erik Sabrowski, was the top selection of non-high school players from Canada, taken in the 14th round by the San Diego Padres. Sabrowski, who calls Edmonton home, attended Cloud County Community College in Kansas where this season the sophomore fanned 18 in a seven-inning game..

Where were you when you heard about being drafted and what were your immediate thoughts?
I was at home when I found out I was drafted, I was I initially stunned.
What expectations did you have prior to the draft?
I had the expectation to be drafted, but there was a difference in expecting it to happen and it actually happening.
What teams had been in contact with you before the draft?
I had been in contact with about 14 teams pre draft.
What are your plans now and what all will weigh into the decision of turning pro or not?
I plan on turning pro, just waiting on a few paperwork and visa related requirements to sign.
