KY Initial Class of 2027 Rankings

Chris Fuller/Jamie Tessoff
Executive Director/Scouting Director

After a summer and fall that included two Rising Stars Games events, the PBR Junior Future Games, and the State AC Games that afforded our staff the opportunity to see a good number of players in the 2027 class, the time has come to release our initial rankings that include the top 50 players we have seen to date.

As always with ranking young players, these rankings will continue to evolve as we see more players from the class and players continue their development.

For now, here is a look at our initial top 50 in the 2027 class.

The Top 5

Gray Davis, a 6-foot, 165 pound RHP/SS from Trinity HS, sits at the top of the class. Davis was dominant as a member of Team Kentucky at the Prep Baseball Junior Future Games, proving to be nearly unhittable against a good Carolina squad. He ran his fastball up to 88 while mixing in an effective breaking ball, but that’s not where his talent ends. Davis is also a switch-hitting infielder who can play multiple positions while providing power from both sides of the plate.

LHP Brayden Singleton checks in at No. 2. The 6-foot-5, 200 pound lefty was key to Larue County winning the 5th Region championship last spring as he racked up 7 wins and 78 strikeouts. He features a low-80’s fastball and big breaking curveball, and is just scratching the surface of his potential. There are already rumblings of a velocity increase for the big lefty who oozes projection with an extremely high ceiling.

RHP Caeden Patterson (Taylor County HS) occupies the No. 3 spot. Coming off a dominant summer, the 6-foot, 170 pounder features a high spin fastball that’s been up to 87 mph and a low 70’s, sharp breaking ball. The arm is extremely quick, and there is likely more velocity in the tank moving forward.

Cole Adams, a 6-foot-1, 180 pound LHP from Morgan County HS, checks in at No. 4. Adams impressed at the State AC Games in September where he ran his fastball up to 85 mph showing significant arm-side run, and flashed two different breaking balls, a 65-68 mph curveball and shorter-breaking 73-76 mph slider.

Tyler Fryman, a 5-foot-11, 160 pound right-handed hitting OF from Beechwood HS sits at No. 5. The only player committed in the class (Louisville), Fryman is uber-athletic and flashes sub-7 sixty-yard speed and an ability to run down balls in the gaps from his centerfield position. His line-drive producing stroke punishes the gaps, and once on base, he uses his speed to apply pressure to the defense.
