The 2024 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Coach David Anderson and the Bosqueville Bulldogs look to pick up where they left off in 2024 after finishing as 2A Regional Semifinalists one year ago. The Bulldogs believe their strengths in 2024 will be their pitching and defense and it’s not hard to see why when you take a look at who they bring back.

Perhaps the most notable returner for the Bulldogs in 2024 will be senior INF/RHP Easton Hill (uncommitted - 1st Team All-District, Honorable Mention All-State 2023), who is expected to be the team’s starting Shortstop come opening day as well as see some innings on the bump. Alongside Hill will be a pair of two-way players in UTL/LHP Colby Moore (2024; uncommitted), who was Honorable Mention All-District in 2023, and RHP/OF Cooper Kent (2026), who was District Newcomer of the Year in 2023. Moore and Kent will be expected to lead the pitching staff this season as well as factor elsewhere on the diamond. Rounding out the returning players for the Bulldogs in 2024 is junior INF/OF Ryder King (uncommitted). King was First Team All-District and Second Team All-State in 2023 and is versatile enough to play wherever for the Bulldogs this season.

The Bulldogs have a couple of sophomores to follow this season as UTL Camp Youens and OF Brody McNamara are projected to play big roles on varsity and join the previously mentioned Kent, as impact underclassmen. A freshman to monitor in 2024 for Bosqueville is OF/RHP Dax Pharris, who could be called upon right away to contribute on varsity to begin his high school career.

Bosqueville lost some key pieces off the 2023 team but with their returning seniors and intriguing young pieces, the Bulldogs should be a factor again come 2A playoff time.
