MISSISSIPPI 2027's: TOP-10

Trent Buckley RHP / OF / Columbia Academy, MS / 2027

Trent Buckley of Columbia Academy is making himself known as the top 2027 prospect around the state. With a fastball into the upper 80’s and a 6-4 lean, athletic frame one would understand why. One of many two way threats in a spectacular class that we can’t wait to get to see more of. Trent, along with brother Logan (#4 in our 2026 class) give the Cougars a solid core to compete for a title this spring.

Drew Davis RHP / RHP / Sumrall, MS / 2027

Drew Davis of Sumrall is coming off a season to dream of after going 14-0 with a 0.96 ERA as just an eighth grader. Davis has the stuff to repeat those numbers with his arsenal which features a fastball into the upper 80 mph range and very good action to his 12/6 breaking ball. Davis also will probably get a chance to show his dual threat capabilities as a sure handed middle infielder with front end of the lineup upside as a hitter.

Quincy Pratt C / SS / Magnolia Heights, MS / 2027

Quincy Pratt of Magnolia Heights is the sole committed player in the 2027 class in Mississippi. We saw the Ole Miss recruit at our Oxford Open this summer and you could instantly see the reason why the Rebels jumped on him. There was a looseness and fluid look to everything he did on the diamond. His body is still developing and as it does we are seeing a very special player on the rise.

Deuce Jenkins OF / 1B / Northwest Rankin , MS / 2027

Deuce Jenkins of Northwest Rankin possesses elite power from the left handed box. The 2 time Junior Future Games participant carries a very physical build and will continue to develop more on defense as a first baseman or outfielder, though his current potential at the plate should get him in the lineup regularly as a freshman.

Wyatt McDaniels C / 3B / Mooreville , MS / 2027

Wyatt McDaniels of Mooreville is a solid catching prospect in the 2027 class though he gained plenty of attention after hopping on the mound this summer at the Junior Future Games. McDaniels is still fairly raw on the bump but flashed an 88 mph fastball and with his 6-3 frame it’s exciting to see what he will look like over time.

Eli Bagley OF / RHP / Hernando, MS / 2027

Eli Bagley of Hernando is a duel threat in the class who has middle of the order potential and upside on the mound. Bagley is yet another 2 time Junior Future Games participant from this class. This past summer at Lakepoint, the outfielder registered an in-game 98 mph laser for a double and later showed off his 85 mph fastball on the mound.

Crews Albritton OF / LHP / Tri-County Academy, MS / 2027

Crews Albritton of Tri-County Academy has solid power potential from the left side and decent speed (6.99) already. Albritton was at our Top Prospect Underclass event this fall and connected for several high 90 mph line drives during his batting practice round. As a late addition to the pitching rotation, the lefty left us very excited about his potential on the mound as well after showcasing a low 80’s fastball and good feel to his breaking ball.

Sullivan Reed 3B / 1B / Meridian, MS / 2027

Sullivan Reed of Lamar was a 2022 Junior Future Games participant and displayed his quick bat and power potential. The larger framed (6-2) corner infielder has slimmed down and should be more versatile on defense but his ability at the plate really stands out. Reed has 100 mph exit velocity potential and has some loft to his swing that will make him a threat to high school pitchers over the next several years.

Brannan Overstreet SS / RHP / Hernando, MS / 2027

Brannan Overstreet of Hernando is a very solid infield prospect who continues to develop overall with his body. As his 6-2 frame matures Overstreet could see himself move up in the rankings as he has as good of fundamentals as anyone in his class. Watching him in game action, he slows the game down as well as anyone we’ve seen and as the tools grow we could be looking at something special.

Rece Atkinson RHP / 3B / Leake Academy, MS / 2027

Rece Atkinson of Leake Academy has settled in as one of the top pitching prospects in the 2027 class. We started seeing the potential in 2022 at the Junior Future Games as he worked some very solid innings for Team Mississippi. At our Top Prospect Underclass event in October the righty looked to have made a significant jump. With very solid arm side run and velocity up to 86 mph, Atkinson looks to produce very soft contact and could be a ground ball machine moving forward.
