Charlotte Christian and Forsyth Country Day faced off on Saturday night at Christian in the 2nd Round of the NCISAA 3A State Tournament.  Christian jumped out to a big lead before holding on for a 9-8 decision to advance to the next round.

In the first, JT Killen launched an elevated fastball to the left-centerfield gap, clearing the wall, for a 3-run homerun.  With the lead, Christian starter Matthew Siverling worked to attack the Country Day lineup, surrendering only 1 hit in his 3 innings of work.  In the 4th, Christian went to its bullpen and lefty Jonathan Jagielski. Jagielski worked out of some trouble in the 4th, allowing the Christian offense to go back to work, still leading 3-0.
